I have worked as a therapist for the past 22 years in private practice. It is my great privilege to be with people at perhaps the most difficult times in their lives what ever the circumstances. It is my experience that all of us long for connection to ourselves and others - essentially to be met as a person - regardless of presenting issue.

In our first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and explore the most appropriate treatment types which may be a combination of a person centred approach, psychotherapy, CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing or Family Systems therapy.
Many of my clients come to me facing deeply personal and often overlapping challenges. These struggles are often intensified by the relentless pace of modern life, social media, and financial instability. Whether you are moving through bereavement, career transitions, or burnout, I am here to help. I also support those who have turned to substance or behavioral addictions as a way to cope with the heavy weight of isolation and stress.

Are you someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—emotionally, mentally, or physically. Are you struggling with feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression, or perhaps you’re navigating a major life transition, such as a career change, relationship breakdown, or loss. This can often leave you feeling weighed down by self-doubt, vulnerability, and fear of judgment. Deep down, do you have a sense that something within you needs attention and care, but may not know exactly what that is or how to approach it. You may have had experience with therapy before decided it wasn’t for you, perhaps you hadn’t met the right therapist

I’m so glad you’re here - it means a part of you understands that keeping it bottled up isn’t working anymore. As your holistic psychotherapist I offer a path to get to the root of your pain. Your struggles are not your fault; they can likely be traced back to your childhood and the coping strategies you learnt to cope. Together we will uncover what has been keeping you stuck or causing pain - working towards understanding how it impacts you now; how you show up in the world, in relationships and in the quiet moments with yourself.

Perhaps you are wondering why choose to work with me or what would this look like? We can begin with exploring what you are going through and look to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of these lived experiences, and possibly identify the origins. Your journey and experiences are unique. You bring your story and together we will navigate the feelings, thoughts, emotions and behaviours, validate the impact and create a clear picture of the change you might hope to achieve. Through this process we can also explore ways you can best implement change for an improved lived experience.

I use the Internal Family Systems approach.
I specialize in helping those affected by Narcissistic Abuse. Narcissists control, manipulate, dominate and lie to get their needs met without considering their significant other. Understanding their gas-lighting tactics helps the client understand how it is affecting them emotionally and psychologically. I help them break free from this insidious abuse.

I am a Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapist, deeply rooted in the person-centred and existential belief that every individual holds an innate capacity for resilience and growth. My approach is grounded in genuine connection, empathy, and curiosity about what it means to be human. I believe that therapy offers a space where people can safely explore who they are, what they’ve experienced, and how they wish to live more fully. Working collaboratively, I aim to support clients in finding their own voice and inner strength, even in moments of uncertainty or pain.

Feeling trapped in a painful 'push-pull' cycle? One of you constantly seeks closeness, while the other needs space, leaving you both feeling lonely and misunderstood. These predictable patterns are often driven by our attachment styles, creating a dynamic that feels strangely familiar yet difficult to break. I help individuals and couples move beyond managing symptoms to understand and change this dance. Together, we can decode your pattern, heal its roots, and build a secure, loving connection. The goal is not to change who you are, but to help you relate to each other in a new way fostering security, intimacy, and mutual support

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Counsellors
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
