I work with individuals who are struggling to cope, whether that be from trauma, life changes, mood disorders or neurodivergence.
I’m a humanistic-integrative psychotherapist! This means that I don’t align myself with one type of practice, I work with the client to find an intervention that will suit their goals and needs. I have a MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a BA in Psychological Studies. Clients tend to see results within a month, depending on the severity of the issues at hand, which are then sustained after.

It doesn't always feel like " trauma
I'm particularly interested in these moments of shock — not only life-threatening events, but experiences that felt too sudden or too lonely to process. Moments nobody noticed, but something in you knows changed things. My approach is body-based, Somatic Experiencing informed, and paced carefully — helping the body complete what was interrupted.

I work with a range of difficulties, including relationship issues, mood, anxiety, suicidality, personality difficulties, developmental trauma and psychosis.
Feeling low, anxious, over-analyzing, being detached, feeling lost, feeling guilty, having a strong critical voice, having relationship problems, being told you are over-sensitive-these are all issues we can look at in-depth. You may have a diagnosis but it is usually much more helpful to look at a formulation or map of your difficulties. I am passionate about working with people who want to really understand what is contributing to their difficulties, and want to engage in experiential work to deeply address these. I specialise in Schema Therapy as it not only seeks to bring deep understanding, but also deep healing.

I’m committed to supporting clients through the mental and emotional challenges of chronic illness and medical trauma.
You might seek support if... You want to reclaim your sense of self after illness or medical events. You need a safe and supportive place to experience grief for the person you were before becoming unwell. You’ve felt unheard or invalidated during your medical journey. You’re struggling with new fears and panic in medical settings or everyday life. Returning to “normal life” after remission or recovery feels overwhelming. You’re navigating the profound impact of a palliative or end-of-life diagnosis.

While I enjoy working with clients facing a wide range of difficulties, I have a particular interest in anxiety, OCD and trauma
My interest in psychotherapy, spirituality and meditation began after the end of my marriage several years ago, which like many other types of losses, triggered a lot of suffering. Life transition, family and friends losses, the breakup of long-term relationships, stress, anxiety and depression are all part of human suffering. However, we have an innate capability, which we can strengthen, that allows us to navigate and, more importantly, learn from our most difficult life experiences.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
