A client experiencing issues of anxiety, depression, family trauma, bullying, relationship challenges, parenting, low self esteem and confidence. A need to get to know oneself better. A need to understand a situation, a person, or circumstance more fully. A need for peace of mind and heart. A need for answers to internal questions that are causing unrest. The client wants peace of mind and heart as there is or are some thing(s) causing them distress. The client may not know what the issues are. I offer the client a safe space to discover what they need help with and walk with them on that journey.

Feeling overwhelmed, stressed or anxious? Sometimes the demands of modern life can make us feel out of control. When we are suffering, we tend to look at all that is wrong in our lives. We can lose confidence and make judgements and assumptions about ourselves or our situations that focus mainly on the negative. The coping strategies we adopted in childhood can become our defensive mechanisms in adulthood and we can often find ourselves repeating old patterns of behaviour that don't work but we don't know how to find a way to break the cycle.

It is impossible to tell you exactly what your therapy process will be like, as you are unique, with your own experience, strengths and difficulties. Good therapy will be tailored to you and your individual situation. That said, in all models of therapeutic work I will work with you to define your goals and to develop the steps you will take to achieve those goals in therapy. Your therapeutic process will not only focus on your current situation and experiences, but also on the internal patterns that may be contributing to how you are feeling.

My goal is to help the client to achieve their own personal goals, via individual or couple's therapy. This includes recovery from trauma e.g. adverse childhood events, sexual abuse, violence, bereavement, PTSD, abandonment or any issues that affects ongoing functioning. It also addresses self-esteem, depression, addiction or anxiety/panic attacks that may arise as a result of stress. Indeed stress is the root of much anxiety and physical ailments. I understand how debilitating anxiety and depression can be, that relationships break down and how difficult it can be for victims of
narcissistic
abuse.
I help clients who are struggling with a problem which they know is possibly holding them back from being the person they believe they can be. Maybe you are someone who has tried with some success to deal with your own issues but have reached the threshold of your own ability and now need someone you can trust to get alongside to to complete your journey. You are not sure if you are able to trust anyone as you have always been independent and looking for professional help is not something you do easily. So maybe is time to try working with that professional someone who will listen non-judgmentally to get you over that last hurdle.

I suffered from anxiety&panic attacks for 22yrs due to bullying &
narcissistic
abuse, which held my back from achieving my goals until I got help. Being a Co-dependent people pleaser meant that I was putting other people’s wants and needs before my own, trying to get acceptance, manage the situation and to keep the peace. This was exhausting until I learned how to take my personal power back

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful”. My work is psychoanalytically oriented and is based on the belief that you already have the solution. So, let’s find it! The practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy recognises that often, the language (verbal and non-verbal) of that solution only needs to be heard in order to be consciously realised and put into action. I will help you identify and define this language.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Counsellors
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.
How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.
Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.
How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
