Some clients have lost themselves and their identities. This can be due to childhood trauma or a life event that has brought painful emotions such as a significant loss or family/intimate relationship difficulties. The effects of these life experiences make day to day life very difficult, We experience anxiety and depression amplified by overthinking and worry. We need to find a safe space to share the experiences and counselling to process them. A Client comes for counselling to make positive change and live their best life. They want a strong sense of self, fulfilling relationships and help in finding their life's purpose.

For over a decade I have been supporting women going through various life changes and transitions. Together we carved paths through overwhelm and anger, through heartbreak and grief, through feeling stuck, through anxiety and depression . Together we found ways to transform, accept or let go of what caused frustration or pain. Each time, down the path, we discovered amazing inner strength, wisdom and creativity which allowed us to move forward with a sense of peace, integrity and empowerment. Does that sound like what YOU need to do at this time in your life?

My goal is to help the client to achieve their own personal goals, via individual or couple's therapy. This includes recovery from trauma e.g. adverse childhood events, sexual abuse, violence, bereavement, PTSD, abandonment or any issues that affects ongoing functioning. It also addresses self-esteem, depression , addiction or anxiety/panic attacks that may arise as a result of stress. Indeed stress is the root of much anxiety and physical ailments. As a foundation I offer a sincere and authentic relationship to assist the client with all relationships and future aspirations in their lives. I also offer clinical supervision.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
