My aim is to work with you to find effective answers that bring relief and healing. When working with couples I bring a wealth of experience going back many years. I can help you especially in areas such as communication, couple conflict, sexual problems, infidelity, domestic violence, pre- marriage doubts, all relationship issues and many others. For individuals I offer a range of therapies and experience dealing with issues such as Anxiety, Stress, Esteem, Self-confidence.

My goal as your counsellor is to make you feel supported, heard, and understood as you make this important decision to invest in yourself and your future. Each of us possesses intuitive wisdom about what we want and need for a healthy and balanced life. Counselling lets us dig deep and bring that inner knowing to the surface, into our awareness. I love how resourceful people can be. Most of us don't question who we are or how we got here until in a crisis or conflict. Therapy can be useful for many reasons; self acceptance, letting go of others expectations, difficulties in relationships, feeling stuck, a personal challenge, or just learning more about yourself. I love studying the science of human behaviour and understanding why we are the way we are. I combine psychology and science with psychotherapy in my approach. I work with a wide variety of issues, and have additional training in a number of areas, constantly developing the services I can offer.

I find that many of my clients have difficulty in understanding their issues. My best source of learning has been my own life. Of course, college was needed for the academic side but there is no replacement for life experience. I have come through addiction. I used substances to overcome fears and inhibitions. I lost a wonderful marriage , a high-level job and fabulous home. I lived on the streets. I brought fear, loss and torment to friends and family. I worked my way into this area of work because I survived and am now in a position to help people because I understand what addiction, loss, panic and stress can cause

I have expertise in working with eating disorders, relationship issues child adolescent and family issues. I can offer parenting strategies advice and support with regard to child and adolescent challenges.

Couples counselling is my specialist area. This ranges from marriage counselling , to same sex relationship therapy. I use different processes to explore the triggers & find new ways to manage couple conflict. Each relationship is unique & needs nurturing, whether your intention is to re-build the relationship or to have a safe space before moving on.

Sometimes when struggling with various stressors we often fear reaching out for help. Therapy can support you to process painful experiences; increase your ability to cope day to day, and address long term issues affecting the quality of your life. I work with complex client needs such as sexual abuse, substance misuse, relational issues, and mental health including other anxiety, emotional and behavioural issues.

My interest in psychotherapy, spirituality and meditation began after the end of my marriage several years ago, which like many other types of losses, triggered a lot of suffering. ​Life transition, family and friends losses, the breakup of long-term relationships, stress, anxiety and depression are all part of human suffering. However, we have an innate capability, which we can strengthen, that allows us to navigate and, more importantly, learn from our most difficult life experiences.

Provision of Psychotherapeutic space for clients to feel supported, allowing them to gain insight into a greater understanding of themselves whilst engaging in interventions aimed at increasing self awareness. Clients learn coping skills to address their various difficulties allowing them to live a more satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle; for example management of emotions related to situational stress, anger management or general difficulties; occupational work life balance, relationship, family or other.

We can all feel stuck or confused at times and it can be helpful to look at what is happening in your life and discover your options. Options at time that may not be obvious. My objective is to explore and discover talents that are hidden and not always recognised in the person. Some of our thoughts may be learned behaviour may be problematic and not serving us well.
