I have clinical experience of working therapeutically with trauma, depression , grief, relationship issues, self esteem issues, anxiety, anger management and broader life issues.
The client is always at the centre of the counselling process and their holistic psychological welfare is of utmost importance. Our counselling space is a safe environment where the beliefs and values of the client are respected and their sense of independence and growth are nurtured.Initially, I see my role as one of facilitating the individual’s exploration of their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. My integrative training then allows me to be fluid in my approach and draw on other schools of psychotherapy as our counselling journey progresses.

Welcome and thank you for checking out my profile. If you are experiencing feelings of grief, sadness, isolation, anxiety, depression , anger or if you are experiencing the stress of a relationship breakup or divorce, sometimes the best way to process these feelings is to work through them with a qualified counsellor. My own experience of counselling as a client has shown me the healing power of talking therapy. Also, as a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist I have seen the healing power of counselling for the many different issues I work with in my therapy practice

I work from an eclectic approach and draw on various theories and techniques, including humanistic, attachment and CBT. How I work will depend on what is best for you at any one time. Most important is that we build a collaborative working relationship where you feel safe to explore what is happening for you right now. Are you experiencing stress, depression or low mood? Do you have relationship difficulties, lack self confidence or feel stuck? Would you like to make changes, understand yourself and your problems better and foster fulfilling and happy relationships?

Hazel works with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression , low self esteem, shame, guilt and experiences of bullying.
Hazel believes therapy should be a collaborative process where the therapist provides a safe, non judgemental environment. This facilitates healing by giving the client the space to process difficulties and build awareness of patterns and behaviours that may be unhelpful or causing distress. Hazel believes awareness creates conscious choices which lead to a more fulfilled life.

Sometimes life can just feel out of kilter and we don't know why, or the weight of every day life is heavy. When we feel like this it can be helpful to have someone to talk to who is not already involved and invested in your life. I work across a spectrum of mental health concerns, but have a particular interest in trauma, grief/loss, maternal mental health (in particular crisis pregnancy and miscarriage), addiction, depression , anxiety, low-self esteem and perfectionism. I work with Nurture Health on all areas related to maternal mental health.

Some issues I have helped clients over come are addiction, depression , anxiety, grief, and trauma.
As an integrative therapist I draw on many approaches and modalities to best suit my clients needs with a preference for person centred therapy. Person centred therapy allows the client to speak freely and openly about their issues and concerns and gives them the opportunity to explore more about themselves and bring their self-awareness to a new level.

Behind every person who feels despair, lost, alone, helpless, panicked, depressed , trapped, is a person who can be helped. Sharing the burden, feeling supported, being heard, not feeling judged, empathy- these are all aspects of counselling that I provide. For some, it means telling their story and being heard properly, maybe for the first time ever. I have a passion for helping people to understand themselves better and working with them to remove the blocks in the way of their inner peace. Importantly, I always believe that change, release from suffering and a better way forward is possible for every person.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Naas. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
