I use an integrative approach with tools to adapt to individual client needs. My commitment and awareness to my own journey in therapy led me into the area of mental health and helping others. I have over 20 years of experience working in the hospitality sector and have always valued working with people. I have experienced personal challenges, namely grief and my diagnosis of chronic health conditions. I am committed to utilising both my training and life experiences, by applying my knowledge and empathy to help others in their own journey.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I work with individuals and couples who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected, or searching for greater meaning, clarity, and balance in their lives. Many clients come to therapy carrying anxiety, stress, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or the emotional impact of painful past experiences. Some may feel lost, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves and others. Together, we create a safe, compassionate, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions openly, build self-awareness, and strengthen resilience and emotional stability.

Sandra strives to create a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy while clients embark on their journey of self-exploration and personal growth. Her approach to psychotherapy is rooted in the integration of person-centred and psychoanalytic approaches. She is mindful that each client is unique and tailors her therapeutic approach accordingly by incorporating, for example, CBT, Schema therapy and somatic techniques. So often with symptoms of anxiety and depression, vagus nerve dysregulation is an unseen enemy and Sandra uses the principles of polyvagal theory to help clients become more grounded and centred in the body.

My clients tend to be thoughtful, reflective people who feel something in their lives is no longer working as it once did. They may be experiencing anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or others. Often they are navigating demanding work, identity questions, or the emotional shifts that come with parenting and major life transitions. They are usually looking for a space to think more deeply about their experiences, understand long-standing patterns, and move toward a more grounded and meaningful way of living.

I love working with clients navigating anxiety, health worries, self-esteem struggles, or body-image concerns and feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to “have it all figured out.” Clients who want to feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to their own needs and are seeking a space where they can speak freely, understand themselves with more compassion, and learn practical tools to ease anxiety and build a more trusting relationship with their mind and body.At their core, they want to feel grounded, capable, and at home within themselves.

You might be carrying stress, anxiety, burnout, chronic illness, or an eating disorder — and despite everything you've tried, it still feels like an uphill battle. Maybe you've spent years holding yourself to impossible standards, living with a relentless inner critic. That critic isn't a flaw. It's a part of you that learned to keep you safe — and it's exhausted too. Many people I work with are ready for something more profound: not just coping, but healing. Together, we listen to the parts of you that have been working overtime — to understand them, unburden them, and reconnect you with the calm core that's always been within you.

Clients who attend my practice are adults who feel stuck—anxious, empty, or caught in patterns they can't break. Some come exhausted by worry that won't quiet. Others feel numb, going through motions without joy. Many are navigating hard transitions: parenthood, loss, career changes, and relationship endings. Some repeat the same fights or choose partners who can't meet them. What they share is a willingness to understand themselves. I help by offering a space where you don't have to perform. I listen differently—tracking patterns beneath the surface. Together, we connect dots you couldn't see alone.

My ideal client feels stuck in old patterns, often overwhelmed or disconnected, and ready for change. They may struggle with boundaries, anxiety, or relationships, and want to understand themselves more deeply. They’re reflective, curious, and seeking a safe space to feel heard without judgement. Their goals are personal—more confidence, clarity, and connection with themselves and others. Ultimately, they want to live more authentically and feel more at peace in their own lives.

Sports Performance Counsellors
How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualisation, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.

How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.

How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.

What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
