People often come to therapy when the ways they have used to manage emotional pain are no longer working, or have begun to affect their relationships, confidence, and ability to feel at ease with themselves, yet something keeps pulling them back into anxiety, low mood, grief, painful relationships, or emotional instability. I work with adults who want more than short-term reassurance: they want to understand the deeper roots of their difficulties and begin to restore psychological stability, emotional balance, and lasting change.

I work with professionals and leaders under sustained pressure who may be experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety, low mood, or performance fatigue. For some, ADHD or self-doubt adds to the strain. Many clients say therapy helps them regain calm, focus, and momentum in work and life.

It can be draining waking up day after day with your heart racing, feeling on edge. You might be dealing with anxiety or a consistent low mood, overthinking, or replaying worst-case scenarios in your head again and again. Friends and family are around you, and there for you, yet you still feel alone.
It's simply exhausting.
I understand how heavy this can feel, and I’m here to support you and help you find a way through it.

People who are struggling with sleep — lying awake for hours, waking during the night, or feeling exhausted but unable to switch off. Many find their sleep has become something they worry about. I help by using a structured, practical approach based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia to identify what is keeping sleep difficulties going and support steady, lasting improvement.

“Overactive” busy minds have difficulty slowing down. I see it everyday. Having genes for a mental illness does not guarantee having one. Exposure to traumas is also needed to cause a disturbance in transmitters and hormones in the body. I help a person when they are looking for help in reducing psychiatric medications or before taking them. My experience involves helping a person process their traumas to heal them emotionally. In Walsh protocol , food supplements are prescribed instead of psychotropic medications that participate in hormonal and neurotransmitter metabolism. I can speak English, Hindi/ Urdu and Punjabi.

At In-Focus Psychotherapy, therapy is not about fixing what’s “wrong” with you - it’s about exploring what’s real and true for you. Together, we’ll consider how your past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns may be shaping how you feel and live today.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, depressed, lost, broken, or simply curious about why you are as you are, this is a place to look beneath the surface, make sense of what isn't working, and to move toward lasting, meaningful change in your life. We’ll work at your pace, in a way that feels safe and supported, and always guided by acceptance and curiosity.

When we are suffering we tend to look at all that is wrong in our lives. We sometimes make judgements and assumptions about ourselves or our situations that focus mainly on the negative. We each have developed ways of being in the world that have enabled us to cope with whatever challenges we have had to face. These coping strategies become our defence mechanisms and are often developed by us at an early age when we had few resources. They can sometimes create negative patterns of relating to others and the world around us and become barriers to intimate or professional relationships.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
