I have extensive experience working with young children, adolescents and adults. Through a nurturing environment I will ensure that you are respected and listened to. Life can seem very demanding, challenging, causing a lot of stress/anxiety. Therapy provides a safe space to discuss these difficulties. By fostering a compassionate and trusting therapeutic relationship, together we can explore emotions, cultivate resilience and develop positive coping skills.

People often come to therapy when the ways they have used to manage emotional pain are no longer working, or have begun to affect their relationships, confidence, and ability to feel at ease with themselves, yet something keeps pulling them back into anxiety, low mood, grief, painful relationships, or emotional instability. I work with adults who want more than short-term reassurance: they want to understand the deeper roots of their difficulties and begin to restore psychological stability, emotional balance, and lasting change.

Anger and fear are the emotions I help them with.
“Overactive” busy minds have difficulty slowing down. I see it everyday. Having genes for a mental illness does not guarantee having one. Exposure to traumas is also needed to cause a disturbance in transmitters and hormones in the body. I help a person when they are looking for help in reducing psychiatric medications or before taking them. My experience involves helping a person process their traumas to heal them emotionally. In Walsh protocol , food supplements are prescribed instead of psychotropic medications that participate in hormonal and neurotransmitter metabolism. I can speak English, Hindi/ Urdu and Punjabi.

Do you ever feel like you "can't see the wood for the trees?" Despite our best efforts, we only know, what we know, when we know it. We aren’t always able to see, understand or even accept what we’re experiencing. Instead, we struggle against our reality and try to cope by resisting, avoiding, hiding, controlling or denying it. Does this sound familiar? Well you're not alone. It's tough and it’s a universal experience for us all.

I have worked in private practice for ten years, working successfully with many challenging and chronic conditions. I work well with all mental heath conditions, however I specialise in working with Anxiety Disorders, in particular Panic Disorder, OCD, Health Anxiety, GAD and Phobias. Often, clients feel better in a short period of time. I have flexibility in my work and I recognise that each person is unique and works at a different pace, therefore the amount of sessions' differs with everyone, ranging from 1 to 101, however more commonly from 12 to 25. The sessions are 1 hour long.

Hi there. The decision to take time to engage in therapy is huge. Talking to a stranger & not knowing what to expect from them. Not every therapist is going to be a good fit for you. This is your service & you are paying for it. I always say our 1st appointment is about you taking charge, coming in & meeting me & deciding if this is going to be a good fit. If it is that's great, if its not and you feel comfortable to say this I will be delighted to recommend a colleague. I will fully support you in this. I take each person as they come and we work together at their pace. Everyone needs and deserves support.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
