People often come to therapy when the ways they have used to manage emotional pain are no longer working, or have begun to affect their relationships, confidence, and ability to feel at ease with themselves, yet something keeps pulling them back into anxiety, low mood, grief, painful relationships, or emotional instability. I work with adults who want more than short-term reassurance: they want to understand the deeper roots of their difficulties and begin to restore psychological stability, emotional balance, and lasting change.

I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that are difficult to shift alone. This can include anxiety, low mood, OCD, trauma, or longer-term emotional difficulties. Some people are managing day to day but feel burnt out, disconnected, or struggling with self-esteem. Many are high-functioning and used to coping independently. I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way and aim to bring clarity to what is happening beneath the surface, so change feels more possible. You don’t need a diagnosis to begin therapy.

I offer in-person appointments in Naas for adults & adolescents (teens 13-18). There are times in life when the pain feels too much to carry alone. You might be living with the effects of trauma or abuse, feeling disconnected or under threat in your relationships, struggling with anxiety, depression or grief. Perhaps you’re exhausted, burnt out or overwhelmed. You may be facing big existential questions like: Who am I? Why my life so painful? You might even just feel something is off without knowing what. Whatever the colour of your pain, it can shape how you experience yourself and the world right now.

I take a neuroaffirmative approach, recognising people process things differently, including those who feel they may have ADHD, diagnosed or not.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just not quite yourself lately? Do you feel like you are on a "hampster wheel", loosing yourself while caring for everyone else. Maybe things look “fine” on the outside, but inside it feels a bit heavier or harder than it should. If that sounds familiar, you’re not on your own. I’m here to listen and help you make sense of things, so they don’t feel as heavy. You might want to identify and work towards what you want for your life, talk through something that’s happening at the moment, or come to terms with experiences from your past that still feel unresolved. All of that is welcome here.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
