As a mum of four young adults and my own life’s struggles, I value and appreciate lifelong learning and continually strive to pursue both personal and professional development. I am extremely passionate about working in the area of mental health, providing an individual experience to my clients whereby, I hope to make a positive difference to the lives of the people that come into my therapy room. I believe that when someone shows courage, strength, and determination to speak about their mental health and life & difficulties, they need to be met where they are at, in a non- judgmental environment and to be given the space and time

Throughout our lives we encounter situations that challenge us. Sometimes we just can't get passed them, we get stuck and cannot seem to find a solution. As a result we become anxious, stressed or even depressed. I work with clients in a non directive way through psychoanalysis, which allows the client look at their situation or problems, explore the potential causes and find a way of dealing with them. There is no 'one size fits all' solution to personal difficulties, everyone's experience is unique and the psychoanalytic approach allows the client find a solution that is individual to their situation.

I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely met as a human being, not analysed, fixed, or judged. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others, often after long periods of coping alone. My role is to offer a steady, compassionate space where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and gently work towards change that feels real and sustainable.

The most exhausting pain is the kind you have to hide. The anguish you are feeling right now is a signal that your internal world is overwhelmed and needs to be heard, not managed or suppressed. Life shouldn’t feel like something you are merely surviving or managing. You reach a point where you feel entirely stuck—going through the motions of your days while feeling disconnected from your own energy, your relationships, and your sense of purpose.

As a late-diagnosed AuDHD (Autistic and ADHD) therapist and a person in long-term recovery, I understand how exhausting it can be to spend years feeling different, overwhelmed, or wondering why life seems harder than it appears to be for others. Many clients I work with have spent much of their lives masking, people-pleasing, overthinking, or blaming themselves for struggles that make far more sense when viewed through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. For some, this has led to anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the intense emotional pain associated with Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD).

How do gambling rehabilitation programs work?
There are both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. However, for some individuals, an outpatient facility may not offer enough hands-on care, and for other individuals, an inpatient facility may be too much. Both types of care have knowledgeable health professionals including physicians (in the case of residential programs), psychologists, counselors, psychotherapists, and recovered mentors.
How do gambling 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Abstinence and maintenance are key for 12-step gambling disorder programs. Individuals in a 12-step group rely on each other for support and accountability. In addition, there is often a spiritual element to these programs, whereby belief in a higher power can help the individual overcome their tendencies. If an individual genuinely wants to cease gambling, attending a 12-step program along with regular psychotherapy can be highly effective.
How long does therapy take for gambling disorder?
Recovering from gambling disorder takes time and effort. There’s no precise timeline for treatment, but a person can see change if they stick with therapy and if they have the will and desire to stop. Treatment for gambling disorder requires honesty in therapy, a commitment to understanding triggers, as well as the development of coping skills. Making lifestyle changes is also important, such as staying away from lotteries, online gambling, and casinos.
Is relapse a problem for those with a gambling disorder?
Gambling disorder is often chronic and can be life-long; therefore relapse may present a problem for some individuals. But effective treatment can bring a person’s life under control. To remain healthy and on track, the individual may need to regularly check in with their support group or psychotherapist. Frequently refreshing their tools of recovery can be helpful.
