I am observant and intuitively attuned to body language, and these skills help support a co-created, trusting relationship which is congruent and safe.
“Hello and welcome”. Life can be challenging, and often we can feel disconnected and alone, without even knowing why. I offer a safe, confidential space to explore these complex feelings, and the resulting fears, panic, anxiety/stress that prevent you from enjoying your life to its fullest. Together, and at a pace that works for you, we will identify your goals for therapy, using an integrative holistic approach, and work toward a supportive, empowering resolve of your difficulties, in your personal or professional life. This relational approach fosters healing and growth, and builds skills for a healthier way of living.

Therapy is work, and when we work well together to create a trusting therapeutic relationship, change begins within my clients.
I understand the courage it takes to enter in to therapy. My initial aim is to make a connection with you. My practice is non-judgemental, confidential and safe. My belief is you have the answers, as you know your "self" best. With my support and guidance you will start to make changes and feel the benefit of change. I listen well and at times I do not answer, I simply listen so you are heard. We will discuss your issues and look at what needs you wish to have met. We will then look at your goals, figure out how to get their and find out what's stopping you right now. Along the way we will review the positive changes you are making.

Rather than fixing, we explore how mind and body carry experience, allowing understanding, integration, and a more compassionate relationship with oneself
Many of our struggles are not signs of weakness but responses to pain, loss, and unmet emotional needs. I aim to offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients feel safe enough to be understood, reconnect with themselves, and explore healing with curiosity, honesty, and self-acceptance.

Individual sessions last 50mins and couples sessions 70mins.
I have been a Psychotherapist / Counsellor for over 23 years. I work with individuals and couples. I am what’s called an Integrated Psychotherapist, which means I have trained in several approaches. I don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’. I look to make the most of our time together and realise people don’t have the time or money to spend years in Therapy.

When we have experienced trauma or difficulties in our lives, we may feel a low sense of worth, lack of belief in ourselves, or struggle in relationships with others.
My therapeutic training is Integrative Psychotherapy. This means I integrate several approaches to therapy, including exploring life experiences and relationships and how they impact on how we feel about ourselves and others, supporting clients with trauma (from childhood or adulthood), and supporting clients in their search for meaning and well-being.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
