I work with self-esteem issues, anxiety, panic attacks, low mood, depression, self-harm, stress, relationship issues, grief, loss of any kind, ADHD, Autism and childhood trauma. I also have a special interest in women's peri and postnatal mental health and the difficulties associated with menopause transition. Rarely, there is just one cause for any given issue; that is why I take biological, psychological and social factors into account during our first session. I am committed to finding the approach or combination of approaches that are the right fit for you. Above all, I will listen until you feel heard, understood, and accepted.

I’m an EMDR-trained psychotherapist working with trauma, addiction, and the patterns that quietly organise a life. Before psychotherapy, I worked in the international art world — a way of seeing I still carry: attention to what is held in the body, what repeats, what resists language. I don’t see people as problems to fix, but as nervous systems shaped by experience. Therapy becomes a steady, boundaried space where what has been carried alone can be met, felt, and slowly reworked — until something more liveable, and more your own, begins to take shape.

Do you look capable on the outside, but inside you are running on empty, constantly on edge, and trapped in survival mode. I see adults struggling with chronic anxiety, heavy overwhelm, and the isolating exhaustion of burnout. I work with those navigating perfectionism, low self-esteem, deep grief, and complex relationship or family patterns —including co-dependency, adult history of adoption, or the impact of narcissism and addiction. If life's personal and professional systems have left you feeling stuck, detached, and carrying heavy emotional baggage, you are not alone.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
