I work with adults, especially those with ADHD or neurodivergent experiences, as well as anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, anger, or relationship challenges. Together we make sense of your thoughts, manage emotions, and develop strategies that actually work—helping you feel more in control, understood, and able to move forward.

I hold a first-class honours Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy from DCU. I have also achieved a Masters in Health Promotion from NUIG and a Bachelor of Arts from UCD. I have a background in general nursing. I adopt an integrative approach, combining psychodynamic (working with early childhood events) and humanistic (person-centred and non-judgemental) whilst incorporating some cognitive-behavioural techniques to address a range of emotional and psychological challenges experienced by the client. Put simply, I love working with people and my approach places a strong focus on the value of the therapeutic relationship.

Welcome to Your Therapeutic Journey Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, and for many, it may bring a sense of vulnerability or uncertainty. It's completely normal to feel this way, and I want you to know that you're not alone. It takes courage to seek support, and that courage is the foundation of your healing journey. My core belief is that each individual has the potential to lead a more fulfilled life. Too often, we get caught in cycles of guilt, shame, and self-criticism that prevent us from investing in ourselves, our well-being, and our happiness. But therapy is not just a tool for healing – it’s a power

The practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy recognises that often, the language (verbal and non-verbal) of that solution only needs to be heard in order to be consciously realised and put into action.
Finding the words to say “it” allows for better emotional intelligence, and alleviation of dilemmas. You will have the time and space to speak whatever comes to your mind, to put together your thoughts.

I like to meet potential clients face-to-face at the beginning to have an exploratory chat and to see if they would like working with me. If so, I'm interested in listening and to really understand what challenges they are encountering. I love working with people to assist them along their life’s journey, whether it is managing their issues or finding greater purpose and meaning. I use my life experiences and my intuition to see what works best for them.

Psychoanalysis is particularly well-suited for complex, persistent, and not easily explained issues—especially when someone feels stuck, without knowing why. It is especially helpful for long-standing & repeating patterns; questions around identity and desire; anxiety, depression; the effects of early experience or trauma; creative and relational blockages.

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?
Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviours. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?
Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behaviour is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?
Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?
Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
