The ideal environment is one that both supports & challenges us. Too often we go without both of these conditions. A Life Coach will tease out and help you create your vision of what you really want your life to be. If everything in your life stays status quo, you will head into a default future. We need another perspective if not we tend to go around repeating our default patterns and getting nowhere. As a Transformational Life Coach Linda will support you to become the successful and truly happy person you know you are meant to be.

Current openings for individual psychotherapy as well as couples and family counselling.
I take a humanistic view of counselling and wellness. I believe each person has the innate capacity to heal and craft a life of meaning and fulfillment; however, this potential can sometimes be hindered—by open wounds from the past, fears about the future, or a sense of being stuck in an unfulfilling present. While diagnostic language can be useful and sometimes necessary, I approach human suffering through a non-pathologizing lens. Rather than reducing people to symptoms or labels, I offer a collaborative, client-centered approach—one that honours your individuality and emphasizes authentic connection, curiosity, and care.

I also work with couples who may be experiencing a crisis in their relationship or who simply need guidance on how to reconnect with each other.
My therapeutic approach is an integrative one, incorporating the principles of Person-Centred Therapy (a non-directive, empathic approach that empowers clients to fulfil their own potential), Psychodynamic Therapy (which explores the influence of the past on current behaviours) and also CBT, when more specific guidance is required and appropriate.

Open for new clients, adults and couples.
It can be daunting, picking up the phone or sending an email to request your first counselling session. Chances are you have found yourself here reading this profile because life has become difficult due maybe to excessive worry or a feeling of emptiness or a feeling of being at odds with your loved ones. I would love to hear from you, I believe that I can show you a way forward to peace, contentment, joy and a sense of well-being. “Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place”.

Most people come to see me when the "keep the head down and get on with it" approach finally stops working. On the outside, things look fine—you’re hitting your targets and managing the day-to-day. But inside, it’s a constant hum of anxiety, the "Sunday Scaries," or the heavy weight of burnout. I set up TalkingACT to provide a space that is practical, straightforward, and entirely free of clinical waffle. If you are tired of treading water and want a down-to-earth environment to figure out why you’re stuck, you’re in the right place. I focus on where you are now and how to get you moving again.

I also support couples in the process of identifying their patterns, solving their conflicts, and developing new dynamics, so as to rebuild their intimacy and improve their communication and trust.
I am a specialist in systemic psychotherapy and an EMDR therapist. Through an integrative approach, I focus on emotional wounds and traumatic experiences that still feel active in the present, tracking their influence on the person's relationships and bonds.

When we are suffering we tend to look at all that is wrong in our lives. We sometimes make judgements and assumptions about ourselves or our situations that focus mainly on the negative. We each have developed ways of being in the world that have enabled us to cope with whatever challenges we have had to face. These coping strategies become our defence mechanisms and are often developed by us at an early age when we had few resources. They can sometimes create negative patterns of relating to others and the world around us and become barriers to intimate or professional relationships.

Marriage Counselling
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
