I suffered from anxiety&panic attacks for 22yrs due to bullying & narcissistic abuse, which held my back from achieving my goals until I got help. Being a Co-dependent people pleaser meant that I was putting other people’s wants and needs before my own, trying to get acceptance, manage the situation and to keep the peace. This was exhausting until I learned how to take my personal power back

Together, we explore pathways to clarity, resilience, and empowerment, addressing issues such as: Anxiety and stress management; PTSD; Self-esteem and confidence; Attachment and relationship dynamics; Bereavement and loss
Are you feeling weighed down by overwhelming thoughts and emotions? Perhaps you’re struggling to focus, wrestling with procrastination, or finding it hard to make decisions. Racing thoughts, self-doubt, and a lack of confidence may be keeping you stuck in a cycle of negativity. Maybe you’re questioning your sense of purpose, feeling anxious, tense, or even emotionally distant. Or perhaps you’re coping with grief, enduring physical symptoms like headaches or body pain, or having trouble finding restful sleep. If any of this feels familiar, know that you don’t have to be on your own in navigating any of these issues. Support is here.

Now I'm a psychotherapist, counsellor, coach, couples therapist, mental health first aider, CBT therapist, workplace wellbeing specialist and GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diversity) therapist.
I love how resourceful people can be. Most of us don't question who we are or how we got here until in a crisis or conflict. Therapy can be useful for many reasons; self acceptance, letting go of others expectations, difficulties in relationships, feeling stuck, a personal challenge, or just learning more about yourself. I love studying the science of human behaviour and understanding why we are the way we are. I combine psychology and science with psychotherapy in my approach. I work with a wide variety of issues, and have additional training in a number of areas, constantly developing the services I can offer.

My broad range of experience includes working with psychiatric diagnoses such as psychosis and borderline personalities and with those affected by anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, bereavement and traumatic and post traumatic disorders.
I aim to offer support through my psychoanalytic practice to Italian speakers who live in Ireland. I expect much of my work will hold and contain their feelings of loss at being away from home, as well as the fear of disintegration brought about by the hard task that living in a country with a different culture and language may bring up.

I counsel Individuals and Couples seeking support for issues affecting their emotional or physical well-being.
I work with couples who are experiencing challenges within their relationship that may be causing unhappiness and disharmony. A relationship does not have to be in crisis to pursue therapy: Couples therapy can help strengthen a relationship by improving communication skills, modifying dysfunctional behaviours and deepening the understanding of one another.

Couples Counselling

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
