My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, meaning I work with you at a deeper level to make sense of your experiences, while also drawing on evidence-based tools like CBT-E for eating disorders and trauma-informed interventions.
I specialise in eating disorders and disordered eating, supporting clients with restriction, binge eating, emotional eating, compulsive exercise, or body image difficulties. My approach isn't about "fixing", but helping you make sense of what's beneath the surface and develop safer, more supportive coping.

I work with clients from an integrative, client centred approach, making sure their needs are heard and I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is where healing begins. Depending on the needs of the client I may draw on a number of approaches and can work with CBT principles, pyscho-education and nervous system regulation techniques.

As a counsellor and psychotherapist of 15 years, I have worked with adults and adolescents from the age of 11 years. I know how important choosing the right counsellor/psychotherapist is and the courage it takes to start this journey. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is integral for growth and healing. I create a compassionate, safe, non judgemental environment in which to work with clients. I work from a humanistic and integrative perspective and help clients see their own potential as they work through their difficulties.

Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed, as if you're stuck in a cycle of stress and burnout? You're not alone. Many of us experience these feelings without fully understanding their roots. Often, our past experiences shape our present behaviors in ways we may not even be aware of. In our therapy sessions, I aim to provide you with a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts and emotions. Together, we will uncover the underlying patterns that may be contributing to your anxiety, worry, shame, or stress. My goal is to help you feel better in yourself, empower you, and help you heal.

My work is primarily rooted in psychoanalytic/ psychodynamic principles, which is particularly beneficial for those who have experienced trauma, those who have long standing challenges and those seeking deeper personal exploration and understanding.
With over 15 year experience as a clinical psychologist in the mental health services and hospital settings, I am experienced in working with people who have experienced complex challenges in their lives, including early trauma and those with longstanding mental health challenges. I have a particular interest in helping people who have been suffering with physical symptoms (chronic pain conditions, functional neurological disorders among others) where medical treatments have not brought relief.

My work is informed by psychodynamic and attachment based thinking, while also incorporating somatic awareness, paying attention to how emotions, stress and past experiences can show up physically as well as emotionally.
Therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you have been carrying a lot quietly while trying to keep everything going. You may be experiencing anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or noticing patterns in relationships that keep repeating. Many people come to therapy wanting to better understand why they react the way they do, feel calmer in themselves, and make sense of experiences that still seem to shape them now.

Hi, I’m Liza, a qualified and accredited psychotherapist offering therapy for adults across Ireland. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, grief, infertility, relationship difficulties, and abuse. Having lived abroad for a number of years also helps me understand what it's like to move to a new country or return home Sometimes life asks us to carry more than feels possible, grief, loss, fertility struggles, relationship pain, adoption journeys, or past trauma. It can feel very lonely holding it all on your own. When working with clients, I go gently, at your pace, helping you feel supported, understood, and less alone.

I offer a warm, supportive space and draw on CBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic and holistic approaches.
Are you carrying the weight of past experiences or struggling to feel safe in the present? You're not alone. So many of us are unknowingly operating from a dysregulated nervous system. Therapy offers a secure, confidential space to gently process trauma, reconnect with yourself, and begin healing at your own pace—with the hope of feeling more grounded and regulated from within.

I work with individuals navigating relocations, career transitions, relationship changes and major life transitions. Having lived and worked all around the world myself, I understand how disorienting major life changes can feel. My approach is integrative and relational, blending elements of traditional therapy with coaching, regulation practices and the body-mind connection. I’ve worked with many therapists and coaches myself, so I truly understand the vulnerability that comes with reaching out for help. All sessions are fully online, so location is never a barrier.

I offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for people who may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or at a crossroads in their lives. Often, those who come to therapy are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, greater emotional awareness, or support in navigating difficult or uncertain circumstances. My approach is integrative and relational, supporting exploration of thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may no longer feel helpful. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with a more authentic sense of self.

I work integratively, grounded in Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Relational and Compassion-Focused approaches.
You might find yourself wondering, “why do I keep feeling this way?” or “why do I react like this, even when I don’t want to?” Hi, I’m Victoria. I work with people who feel stuck in patterns that don’t fully make sense, often in their self-worth, relationships or emotions. You may be experiencing anxiety or low mood, but also a deeper sense that something hasn’t shifted, despite your efforts to move forward. Being human can feel messy, especially if you’ve experienced past hurts or trauma. I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and able to be yourself without judgement.

Psychodynamic Counsellors
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
