Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or like you're constantly masking? You’re not alone and you don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
I work with adults who are neurodivergent and navigating anxiety, burnout, identity questions, and the emotional weight of constant masking. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to work with me.
I’m a pre-accredited psychotherapist with lived experience of ADHD. My approach is neurodivergent-affirming, sensory-aware, and rooted in curiosity, not correction.

I offer counselling on men's issues, but welcome and have many clients of all genders too.
Yes, talking is good and helps. But maybe therapy can be much more... I blend psychotherapy, coaching and CBT to see things differently and help in fresh new ways. Curious?

My wish for each client is that they be well. Every client comes to therapy with different needs. With strong foundations in somatic, emotional and cognitive therapies, I also offer the swifter interventions of Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Some clients want a quick fix, some want to explore and experience personal development. Some clients are top down, and others are bottom up. Some clients just need to talk, some don’t want to talk at all. Recognising these needs in how I work with each individual client is essential.

You feel different, and you have for a long time. You have carried silence, or shame, or questions that never quite let go. Many of the people I work with are queer, neurodiverse, or moving through change that feels heavier than they let on. Together we step outside the box of just talking. We cannot always think our way out of what hurts, we have to feel it, move with it, and live our way into something new. Beginning therapy takes courage. If you would like to start, I offer a free 15 minute consultation,

Most of us can say 'we're grand' without thinking. Saying otherwise is harder. We are often better at enduring than we are at reaching out. It's usually something learned, something cultural, something that may have worked for a long time and then stopped working.
The pressures that shape people's inner lives have always interested me: the things that go unspoken, the tendency to 'say-nothing', the social expectations around drink, and the various people we become throughout our lives. That curiosity informs how I work with people who are trying to make sense of who they are and what they want.

Most people come to see me when the "keep the head down and get on with it" approach finally stops working. On the outside, things look fine—you’re hitting your targets and managing the day-to-day. But inside, it’s a constant hum of anxiety, the "Sunday Scaries," or the heavy weight of burnout.
I set up TalkingACT to provide a space that is practical, straightforward, and entirely free of clinical waffle. If you are tired of treading water and want a down-to-earth environment to figure out why you’re stuck, you’re in the right place. I focus on where you are now and how to get you moving again.

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
