Throughout our lives we encounter situations that challenge us. Sometimes we just can't get passed them, we get stuck and cannot seem to find a solution. As a result we become anxious, stressed or even depressed. I work with clients in a non directive way through psychoanalysis, which allows the client look at their situation or problems, explore the potential causes and find a way of dealing with them. There is no 'one size fits all' solution to personal difficulties, everyone's experience is unique and the psychoanalytic approach allows the client find a solution that is individual to their situation.

I know how difficult it is to find the right therapist for you. There are too many options and choosing what you think will work for you can be overwhelming and disheartening. Often we must try many different professionals before we find what works for us. I am an accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist who holds a Masters degree in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy. My work is guided and informed by the ethical guidelines of IAHIP. The relationship you build with your therapist is the single most important factor that leads to positive outcomes. I believe in providing a safe space for clients where they are met with compassion and nonjudgement. I feel that the client possesses the inner resources within themselves to move through difficult experiences but may need support in facilitating this process through therapy. I believe in meeting the client where they are at and I tailor my therapeutic approach depending on the client’s needs. I am particularly passionate about issues relating to sex, gender and cultural issues as well as self-development and awareness.

Please go to my website, do not contact me through psychology today. It may be understanding thoughts and feelings or recognizing behaviours that no longer serve you and working towards reaching positive fulfilment in your life. Learning to trust and understand yourself is the first step in challenging negative thoughts and bringing about positive change. If you are a person who is trans or gender-expansive I will accompany and support you at whatever stage you are at on your journey. Being heard, accepted and affirmed by someone who does not judge or ask you to justify your experience of life can be a deeply healing experience.

www.aspacetobetherapy.ie - I founded A Space To Be to provide clients with a safe and confidential space to be themselves and to further discover themselves. Working from a humanistic and person centred ethos means I believe that you, the client, hold the tools within to heal and grow. Experiencing early adversity and traumatic life events can cloud perception, create defences and disrupt the relationship held with one's self. Issues such as low self esteem, anxiety and depression can arise. I work in a collaborative and empowering yet gentle way to accompany you on your journey of reconnection and healing.

We all want to feel empowered to live our best life. The problem for most of us is that we don't know how and end up feeling depressed, anxious, frustrated or stuck – and we usually turn to food, alcohol, drugs or other behaviours to help us feel better. Working integratively I include all of the elements that make up your whole person including conscious thoughts, unconscious senses, behaviours, somatic sensations and systemic influences. I work with both adults and adolescents and provide a type of listening that is singular to each person (not a one answer fits all model). By attending therapy you release yourself of burdens and concerns and ongoing symptoms and find new ways of looking at life. The work I facilitate provides an insight and outlook that is focused towards helping each person find more understanding of themselves and what they want for themselves. My experience includes people with different psychiatric diagnosis, people experiencing grief, loss, addiction, ruminating and obsessive thoughts, pre and post natal depression and eating disorders.

You may have been be struggling with something for a long time. You may have fears, anxieties that limit your life. You might notice patterns repeating themselves in your life. Some issues may seem too difficult to resolve. You may need to explore some things in your life that are difficult to discuss with those who are close to you. You may not yet have the words to describe how you feel.
