Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or finding it hard to navigate your emotions or relationship with food? You don't have to do this alone. I work with adults and adolescents, offering a warm, grounded, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood. My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, meaning I work with you at a deeper level to make sense of your experiences, while also drawing on evidence-based tools like CBT-E for eating disorders and trauma-informed interventions.

You might find yourself wondering, “why do I keep feeling this way?” or “why do I react like this, even when I don’t want to?” Hi, I’m Victoria. I work with people who feel stuck in patterns that don’t fully make sense, often in their self-worth, relationships, emotions, or the way they respond to life's challenges. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, people pleasing, a strong inner critic, or a sense that something hasn’t shifted, despite your efforts to move forward. Sometimes our past can continue to play out in the present until it is gently brought into awareness and processed.

My wish for each client is that they be well. Every client comes to therapy with different needs. With strong foundations in somatic, emotional and cognitive therapies, I also offer the swifter interventions of Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Some clients want a quick fix, some want to explore and experience personal development. Some clients are top down, and others are bottom up. Some clients just need to talk, some don’t want to talk at all. Recognising these needs in how I work with each individual client is essential.

My ideal client has experienced emotional pain or trauma, such as abuse, grief, or struggles with mental health. They may face challenges like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or difficulty in relationships. These issues often hold them back, making it hard to feel in control of their emotions or confident in their choices. They may feel stuck in negative patterns and seek healing, clarity, and a stronger sense of self. They want to break free from the emotional weight of the past and rebuild their self-worth. Their goal is to feel empowered, to understand themselves better, and to make decisions from a place of self-awareness

Welcome to Next Step Therapy, an experienced and friendly therapy practice in the heart of Dublin. Our clinical services are: counselling and psychotherapy, addiction assessment and treatment, EMDR for PTSD and complex trauma. I see my therapy room as a sacred space where people can explore things they usually don’t talk about. I approach therapy with an attentive reverence and an attitude of kindness and compassion. The process of therapy is to offer a safe place to explore and name and then change, or accept, these thoughts, attitudes, feelings, moods or behaviours and to experience someone who listens and supports.

I like to meet potential clients face-to-face at the beginning to have an exploratory chat and to see if they would like working with me. If so, I'm interested in listening and to really understand what challenges they are encountering. I love working with people to assist them along their life’s journey, whether it is managing their issues or finding greater purpose and meaning. I use my life experiences and my intuition to see what works best for them.

Anger and fear are the emotions I help them with.
“Overactive” busy minds have difficulty slowing down. I see it everyday. Having genes for a mental illness does not guarantee having one. Exposure to traumas is also needed to cause a disturbance in transmitters and hormones in the body. I help a person when they are looking for help in reducing psychiatric medications or before taking them. My experience involves helping a person process their traumas to heal them emotionally. In Walsh protocol , food supplements are prescribed instead of psychotropic medications that participate in hormonal and neurotransmitter metabolism. I can speak English, Hindi/ Urdu and Punjabi.

Most of the people I see are dealing with something they haven't been able to sort out on their own. It might be anxiety that won't quite settle, the weight of things that happened a long time ago still showing up in everyday life, a relationship that keeps running into the same painful wall, or a sense that what used to get you through isn't working anymore. What they have in common is a wish to understand themselves better and to feel more settled, in themselves and with the people around them. I offer a space that is warm and unhurried, but also thoughtful and considered, where you can bring whatever you need to.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
