I am well aware that life can be a struggle when trying to deal with anxiety, depression, profound sadness, grief, relationship issues, emotional upheavals, stress, long standing hurt or deeply embedded trauma. Sometimes it’s about self exploration. I offer a warm, safe, welcoming and non judgmental space where clients can come and examine how they see themselves in their world; explore unhelpful behavioral patterns and look at how they are in relationship to others and themselves. At all times in the Counselling space, I work from my heart; from a place of compassion and love, with genuine acceptance of the client just as they are

I've been a Registered General Nurse since 2012 and a Public Health Nurse for 9 years, supporting people with long-term illness and new parents through postnatal challenges.
If life feels heavy, overwhelming or confusing, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to work it out by yourself. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, worn down by anxiety, self‑doubt, burnout or the pressure to keep everything together. Therapy can be a space to pause, breathe, and gently explore what’s going on beneath the surface. I offer integrative Talk & Art Therapy for 16+, providing a supportive and creative space where you can express yourself in ways that feel right for you.

I am a mother and also a foster parent; I offer support and encouragement to other foster parents and their families as they embark on their fostering journey.
I work with couples who are experiencing challenges within their relationship that may be causing unhappiness and disharmony. A relationship does not have to be in crisis to pursue therapy: Couples therapy can help strengthen a relationship by improving communication skills, modifying dysfunctional behaviours and deepening the understanding of one another.

My own journey into psychology began with an interest into how we tick as human beings and why some of us seem to suffer and cope better than others. I soon realised that where I really needed to be was with people, helping them better understand and heal themselves. Now, as a qualified psychotherapist for many years, I not only get to do just that, but I also get to witness first-hand the courage and growth of my clients that is forever inspirational.

You may be capable and self-aware, yet still feel overwhelmed, detached or stuck. Relationships may feel intense or confusing. Perhaps you have been told you are too sensitive, too much, or overthinking. I work with adults navigating neurodivergence, including ADHD and autistic identity, Rejection Sensitivity, shame, personality patterns, attachment wounds, trauma and identity shifts. Clients often come to see me with difficulties such as depression, anxiety, bereavement and grief, trauma, relationship difficulties and parent-adolescent work.
You may already have an idea about counselling, but it is important to know that there is not one type of therapy that suits everyone. My main priority is to work with you to develop trust and ensure you have a safe space (free from judgement) to work. We can then use a range of different methods including art, talking, music, worksheets and mindfulness.

I work with adults who have spent years feeling "too much" or "not enough", misunderstood, unable to fulfil potential or find the motivation to do the things they would like to, burnt out before discovering they are ADHD and/or autistic — often in college or midlife. As a late-diagnosed ADHD psychologist and mother, I understand how life-changing (and at times destabilising) this realisation can be. I offer a safe, respectful, compassionate space to explore identity, trauma, emotional regulation, relationships, and self-criticism, helping you move from survival to self-understanding and self-trust, at a pace that suits you.

I have a particular focus on supporting those who have experienced domestic abuse or are adjusting to separation, co- parenting, or rebuilding life after leaving a difficult relationship.
You might look like you’re coping on the outside, but inside everything feels tangled and heavy. You may be carrying anxiety, self-doubt, or the weight of a major life transition—while wondering why things that seem manageable for others feel so overwhelming for you. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, exhausted from overthinking, or unsure how to move forward, even though they’ve tried to “hold it together” for a long time.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
