I work with individuals (adults & young people) facing a range of difficulties, including understanding trauma and how it impacts them, grief and loss, existential concerns and managing acute or chronic health illness and life transitions.
I am an Integrative & Humanistic Psychotherapist and work with couples and individuals. I offer a compassionate, confidential space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings and what prompted them to seek psychotherapy. When working with my clients, I draw on a range of approaches including psychodynamic, existential, and emotionally focused therapy to adapt to their needs. My work is rooted in respect, authenticity, and the belief that lasting change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship. I collaborate and work with my clients to explore why they have taken the brave step into therapy.

I work with adults experiencing the effects of trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, and patterns that no longer serve them.
Therapy can be a freeing process - a space to better understand yourself and gently redirect energy toward caring for yourself in ways that feel authentic. Together, we explore your thoughts and experiences at your pace, while developing practical strategies that support self-respect, self-compassion, and lasting change.

Others are navigating serious illness, bereavement, or a loss that has shifted something fundamental.
In our work together, we can look at what you are carrying, what keeps these patterns in place, and why they can be difficult to shift. The focus is on helping you restore a sense of balance and reconnect with what matters most.

If you are feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, please know you don't have to carry it all on your own. Hi, I’m Yolanda. I provide warm, compassionate therapy in Bray and online. I believe that many of our current struggles come from learned patterns—ways we had to adapt to our environment or family dynamics just to get by. My broad range of experience includes working with psychiatric diagnoses such as psychosis and borderline personalities and with those affected by anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, bereavement and traumatic and post traumatic disorders.
I aim to offer support through my psychoanalytic practice to Italian speakers who live in Ireland. I expect much of my work will hold and contain their feelings of loss at being away from home, as well as the fear of disintegration brought about by the hard task that living in a country with a different culture and language may bring up.

“Overactive” busy minds have difficulty slowing down. I see it everyday. Having genes for a mental illness does not guarantee having one. Exposure to traumas is also needed to cause a disturbance in transmitters and hormones in the body. I help a person when they are looking for help in reducing psychiatric medications or before taking them. My experience involves helping a person process their traumas to heal them emotionally. In Walsh protocol , food supplements are prescribed instead of psychotropic medications that participate in hormonal and neurotransmitter metabolism. I can speak English, Hindi/ Urdu and Punjabi.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
