Whatever the trigger, psychotherapy is a safe and supported way to navigate through these issues. My role is to support you; my style of therapy is caring, supportive and creative. There is no 'one-size fits all' approach that I work to. I enjoy working flexibly to meet your needs in the moment and as these change over time.

Symptoms may include stress, anxiety, conflict, overwhelm, poor self esteem and issues with boundaries, balance and success.
I work with women that feel stuck, particularly in relationships or professional situations that have them feeling overwhelmed, overlooked, unappreciated or undervalued. I help them release any latent beliefs or stories that are holding them back and reconnect to their most powerful and successful selves with a renewed sense of identity, a vision for how they'd like their life to be and the ability to reach their potential to get there.

Life can be challenging and we all need help from time to time. Therapy offers the opportunity to explore and examine how we live our lives, and what we can do to make our lives feel a little better. Each incremental change in our life will compound and help us develop and move towards where we want to be.

Having spent many years working as a volunteer with adolescents in difficulties, suffering from anxiety, stress and depression I have great respect for the demands both adolescents and adults face.
Sometimes we need a non-bias“outside” perspective to hear our own voices. As an integrative therapist I utilize approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person centered, Solution focused, mindfulness etc. depending on the needs and requests of each individual. Pulling apart what may often feel like a tangled ball of wool in ones head in order to recognise, prioritize and cope with the sometimes over whelming thoughts, feeling and behaviors that present. Providing a secure, non-judgmental, confidential environment in which you can safely express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns at a rate that is comfortable to you

Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop tools to manage stress, anxiety, or self-doubt.
You do not have to face your thoughts and emotions alone. You may be tired of pretending you’re okay, or unsure where to start making things better. You don’t have to do it on your own. Together, we can explore what’s holding you back, uncover your strengths, and create space for healing and growth. Change is possible, and you deserve to feel supported through it. If you’re ready to take that first step toward understanding yourself and finding balance, I invite you to reach out, I’m here to listen and help.

Many of the people I work with are used to coping on the outside while inside feeling anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself.
Therapy offers space to slow down, to reflect and better understand yourself. Together, we can explore the patterns, relationships or experiences that may be contributing to anxiety, overwhelm or feeling stuck. Therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself, set healthier boundaries, and move through life with greater clarity and self-compassion.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
