Our world has changed beyond recognition in the past few months and for many people it can feel very overwhelming. Fear, panic, anxiety and stress are all too common in the clients I am meeting on a day to day basis. I hear how isolating it is for people at the moment. Relationship and connection are vital now, more than ever. Talking with a trained professional can help make sense of what you are feeling. Through this therapeutic relationship, you can find connection, healing and the space to speak about the difficult challenges you are going through.

The stress of modern life can lead us to experience anxiety, depression and many other symptoms. Whilst bereavement, change and loss are all natural processes, they can also be painful and destabilizing which can create feelings of anger, helplessness and vulnerability. Challenges in the present can also unearth experiences from our past which we might not have had the opportunity to fully understand and process. These feelings can seriously impact on our lives including relationships, physical health and work such that it can sometimes feel we are out of control.

I help mothers navigate postpartum anxiety, depression, birth trauma, and the profound identity shifts of motherhood.
From the outside, you look like you have it all together. Your house is in order, your career is moving, or you are managing the equally demanding role of a stay-at-home mom. You handle the schedules and the endless mental load. But inside, you feel depleted, anxious, or caught in an exhausting loop of overwhelm, overthinking, and internal pressure. Whether navigating the profound identity shift of matrescence, processing a difficult birth, or balancing parenting with burnout, please hear this: you are not failing—you are simply running on empty in a very difficult season of life.

Many of the challenges we experience in adulthood have their roots in our earliest relationships. The ways we learned to connect, protect ourselves, cope with loss, and understand our place in the world can continue to influence us throughout our lives. I am particularly passionate about supporting people who are exploring the impact of attachment, family relationships, intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, and the challenges that can arise in parenting and intimate relationships. Our experiences within relationships often shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world around us.

Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or stuck. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, family pressures, parenting challenges, loss, low confidence, or simply trying to make sense of a difficult period in your life, therapy can offer a supportive space to pause and reflect. My role is to work alongside you to explore what is happening in your life, better understand the experiences that may have shaped you, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and strengthen the resources and strengths you already possess.

I pride myself on creating an environment that is inviting, non judgmental and empathetic to all my potential and existing clients. I strongly believe in providing a safe and comfortable space where you have the opportunity to be truly heard. I appreciate how difficult it can be for some to reach out and take that initial step in contacting a therapist. As a result of this, I offer an initial informal consultation (15-20 minutes) free of charge, to enable you to decide whether or not you would like to work with me before making any formal commitment.

Pre-accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist, M.Ps.S.I. It is ok not to feel ok. When we have experienced trauma or difficulties in our lives, we may feel a low sense of worth, lack of belief in ourselves, or struggle in relationships with others. We may feel a lack of motivation, stress, anxiety or depression and find it difficult to cope. The pandemic is a current period of great difficulty which may also lead to such feelings. The therapeutic relationship can support us to heal trauma, losses or painful experiences we have been through, as well as to understand ourselves better.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Counsellors
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioural therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviours. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
