We will work together at a pace that supports you to consider a broader view of the difficulties you are facing . Working in this way fosters self-awareness, self-compassion and the real possibility of changing your relationship with yourself and others. This can be hard but feeling accepted and accompanied in exploring your world can offer you the lived experience of more calm, support and choice.

My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with somatic and psychodynamic Interventions.
I offer online therapy for Italian speakers in Ireland, expats, professionals, and English-speaking adults who feel anxious, overloaded, or caught in patterns they cannot easily change. Many clients are functioning well on the outside while struggling with OCD, overthinking, relationship difficulties, loneliness abroad, loss, separation, relocation, or work pressure. My approach is collaborative and structured: we look at what keeps the problem going and build skills for real life.

I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, relational, somatic, and parts-based approaches.
I’m an integrative, trauma-informed psychotherapist in Carrigaline, supporting adults and teenagers (13+). People often reach out when they’re not feeling like themselves, when stress, pressure, or old experiences start showing up in ways they didn’t expect. Therapy gives you space to slow down, make sense of what’s been going on beneath the surface, and figure out what you need to feel more steady day to day.

My approach is emotion and body focused, working to help bring awareness to what is happening for you on a somatic (body) level.
Do you feel you put the needs of others ahead of your own, feeling overwhelmed, guilty or unable to say no to others? Maybe it has gotten to the point where you don’t even consider yourself, putting everyone else’s needs before your own. I can help you to grow in confidence, speak your mind and establish healthy boundaries. Do you feel anxious and worry a lot? Perhaps you feel suffocated, or berate yourself and wish life didn’t have to be so hard, or maybe worry about what everyone else thinks about you. I can help you understand where all these thoughts and feelings are coming from so you can begin to have peace in your life.

There are times in our lives when we feel left behind, unheard, hurt and lonely. In today’s world it’s often difficult to find a true connection with another human being. Relationships, life management, work, school, stress, anxiety, identity issues can be really overwhelming.

Many of the challenges we experience in adulthood have their roots in our earliest relationships. The ways we learned to connect, protect ourselves, cope with loss, and understand our place in the world can continue to influence us throughout our lives. I am particularly passionate about supporting people who are exploring the impact of attachment, family relationships, intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, and the challenges that can arise in parenting and intimate relationships. Our experiences within relationships often shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world around us.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
