I work exclusively with couples. Many people come to me when they are in the middle of a specific crisis, feeling a deep sense of flatness, or are at a crossroads trying to decide the future of their relationship. Whether you are seeking marriage counselling or are in a committed long-term relationship, I provide the support you need to find clarity. I am passionate about helping couples build a solid connection and, where possible, avoid premature divorce. I never suggest ending a relationship; my role is to facilitate your goals. I also help those who want to separate to create a "good ending" with mutual respect.

Life looks fine, but doesn't feel it? Let's figure out why.
Deciding to seek support is one of the most courageous things you can do for yourself.
Many of the people I work with arrive feeling like they could be coping better than they are. Life may be busy and full — and yet something does not feel right. Maybe anxiety is quietly running in the background. Maybe a relationship is struggling, a loss has hit harder than expected, or a life transition has left you questioning things you thought were settled.

You're capable, driven, respected. But inside? There's a quiet, exhausting pressure that never switches off. Replaying conversations over and over again, second-guessing, and not trusting yourself, trying to do everything "perfectly " and being afraid of making mistakes.
I help women struggling with anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt to finally slow their thoughts, feel more in control, and experience a sense of calm and confidence.
Together we can work on:
• Overthinking and constant mental noise.
• Anxiety or panic that feels hard to control.
• Burnout from always pushing yourself.
• Low self-confidence and self-doubt.

I am a pre-accredited humanistic psychotherapist with over 40 years experience as a nurse, bringing a deep understanding of emotional and physical suffering to my work. My psychotherapy journey began in 1998, and although life events delayed qualification, they have enriched my capacity for empathy and presence. Having supported people through vulnerability, trauma, loss, and transition, I understand how profoundly early experiences and relationships shape us.

My name is Olive, and I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I believe Counselling / Psychotherapy is a very empowering journey to discover our True Self. We can be very self-critical with ourselves, through negative self-talk, guilt and criticism. My goal is to help my client work through their issues, and reach a place of self-acceptance, and contentment. My Therapeutic Approach is adapted to each individual person, as everyone has different life experiences, and reacts differently to life’s events. I work with what best suits the person in front of me, and their presenting issues.

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
