You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the person you once were. Maybe a part of you feels unfamiliar, taking up space in ways that feel uncomfortable or confusing. Perhaps something happened that forced you to cope in the best way you could at the time—but now those strategies no longer serve you. You may be seeking understanding, wanting to learn new skills, or ready to make changes that support your wellbeing. Whatever you’re carrying, if it matters to you, it’s worth giving it space, care, and attention.

Before I saw the light, Stress wasn't my problem - taking charge of Stress was. I suffered in the workplace, in a job three grades above my pay grade because I couldn't say "No!" My anxiety went through the roof. My health went through the floor from sleepless nights, anxiety attacks and two painful bouts of shingles in 4 years. Eventually I pulled myself up from rock-bottom to retrain in a new career, resign from my job and take back control of my Stress. If I could do it, anyone could. The transition proved far from easy. Moving forward, developing a new attitude, unlearning and letting go of old beliefs proved difficult.

I work with a whole range of issues: Anxiety, depression, addictions, to cite some of them. A lot of these stem from trauma, and I use Lifespan Integration Therapy to help to integrate traumas and events that were difficult to process. This helps to resolve maladaptative behaviours and thoughts that stem from these unprocessed traumas.

I understand how anxious it can feel when you decide to seek counselling or psychotherapy support. From personal experience, I believe in the benefits and healing that may come from therapy. Therapy can help us to reach a deeper, and insightful understanding, of why we are how we are, why we do things the way we do, how we are in relationships and, in life. It can help us to understand what is no longer working and what we want to nourish in ourselves as we move forward living life on our own terms. Therapy can empower us and give us back our own voice.

Many people come to therapy with symptoms that feel confusing or difficult to explain. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, panic, or find yourself caught in repeating patterns that you can’t seem to shift. You might feel overwhelmed or unsure why these reactions keep showing up. Often, these struggles have roots in earlier experiences or protective ways you learned to cope. Therapy offers space to understand what’s beneath the symptoms, to feel less alone with what you’re carrying, and to move toward real and lasting change.

I am a humanistic, person-centred therapist and I belived passionately in this model of psychotherapy. It emphasises the power you have in changing your own life.
When I sit with someone in a calm, non-judgemental environment and listen to a person's story, fresh perspectives emerge. By taking the time to tease out your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, you can begin to make sense of life and your place in the world.
Such personal work is not always easy. Coming to terms with our deepest feelings can be painful and upsetting. It can also be a huge relief and release, a coming to terms with our true authentic selves.

I trust that we all have, within us, what it takes to be well and have a fulfilling life. All we need is to simply allow our Self to be. “Simply”? Often, it is easier said than done. This is where Counselling and Psychotherapy can translate that professional collaborative working relationship. In that confidential space you can find the courage to explore and understand yourself, feel supported, tell your story, be listened to, reduce the suffering you experience and find respect and acceptance. In that context your Self can, hopefully, begin to shine and heal.
