Life can be a struggle when trying to deal with anxiety, depression, stress, post-traumatic stress, grief, relationship issues, unresolved childhood issues, loneliness, suicidal ideation and long standing hurt or deeply embedded trauma.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed and unable to focus? Feeling worried, struggling with the world today. I use Trauma Informed Care, EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) - I specialise in working with clients struggling with Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Trauma and Unresolved Childhood Issues. When I first meet with a client, we discuss what has brought them to therapy. With this information we discuss how we will work with together. The first session with any new client is to assess if we can work together and if the client feels comfortable with continuing the therapeutic process. In person or online via Zoom

As a Person-Centred therapist I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients which emphasizes their autonomy.
There are times when life can seem overwhelming in particular if we are experiencing stress, anxiety or low mood. Daily life stressors of work and family responsibilities can contribute to these feelings. At other times we may be going through life changes such as a bereavement, issues in our relationships or periods of extended stress at work. Therapy offers a space to notice and explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to be curious about how your past experiences may be impacting your present day life and your thoughts about the future. Coping skills and strategies are taught to allow you be more present.

Healing deep emotional wounds requires a supportive therapeutic relationship, self-awareness, and acceptance.
My interest in psychotherapy, spirituality and meditation began after the end of my marriage several years ago, which like many other types of losses, triggered a lot of suffering. Life transition, family and friends losses, the breakup of long-term relationships, stress, anxiety and depression are all part of human suffering. However, we have an innate capability, which we can strengthen, that allows us to navigate and, more importantly, learn from our most difficult life experiences.

Life is challenging. Everybody faces difficult issues in their lives at one time or another. It could be with your partner, family, at work or with friends; remaining stuck in the same patterns of behaviour and preventing you from growing and moving on to live a more fulfilled life.

I have 33 years experience working with a wide range of clients, coming to see me with many different issues, including anxiety, loss, and stress. In addition hundreds of professionals in the area of psychotherapy, counselling and coaching have attended workshops which I have led. My orientation is humanistic. What this means is that my work with you is non-judgemental and non-prescriptive. Our work together aims to help you to gain greater self-awareness, and with this comes release from internal conflict, less anxiety, a greater sense of freedom, and greater ability to make choices that suit you.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
