I integrate cognitive behavioral techniques to help clients regulate their emotions and challenge their distressing thoughts.
Life can be difficult. The uncertainty of the future can be crippling. Feeling anxious, angry and depressed is normal but sometimes they take over and prevents us from living. I will work alongside clients and discuss their specific goals, needs and their issues.

As a psychologist with experience, I know how great the potential is in every person. We sometimes forget about our capabilities. For various reasons, life did not contribute to the disclosure of our inner potential and resources. But in fact, everything that people need to cope with in life exists inside them. I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instil self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. Making changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with sadness and fear can bring life-altering results. English and Russian clients. Instagram: kris kmt

I have 33 years experience working with a wide range of clients, coming to see me with many different issues, including anxiety, loss, and stress. In addition hundreds of professionals in the area of psychotherapy, counselling and coaching have attended workshops which I have led. My orientation is humanistic. What this means is that my work with you is non-judgemental and non-prescriptive. Our work together aims to help you to gain greater self-awareness, and with this comes release from internal conflict, less anxiety, a greater sense of freedom, and greater ability to make choices that suit you.

If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma or life direction, I believe my therapeutic experience can help you. I firmly believe that when we transform our relationship with ourselves we help reconstruct our relationship to the world around us. My goal is to support you in creating new choices established in the present rather than the past and gently guide you to a place of self care rather than self criticism.

Most clients are looking for some insight into how to manage their life and relationships better, and find a way to change what's not working for them. Providing a safe confidential setting to explore those feelings is what psychotherapy is about. It's not easy sharing a difficult personal history. Some people are exhausted by the time they come to therapy, but sharing can give a clearer prospective. A therapist can help with providing possibilities to make the changes you need. Understanding of why we feel the way we do, can help us navigate those emotions manage ourselves better and improve our relationships and quality of life.

My aim in therapy is to connect with the person, allowing them to feel safe and heard, supporting them to make sense of their lives. I provide a calm and comfortable space for people to explore their difficulties, using evidence-based theory to structure and support their emerging story. This allows us to work together to gently and safely unravel tangled elements of the past, freeing the person to move forward into the future they see for themselves.

I can help with many different issues as most of them stem from the same problem, repressed emotions. So whether it's addiction or relationship issues, the process in therapy is about reconnecting with the body and releasing those repressed emotions.

I have been privileged to have sat with many people over the last number of years. It has been my honour to witness them as they open up and explore the established beliefs, judgments and criticisms that have been causing them distress. Seeing them form new, accepting relationships with themselves and integrate a sense of self-compassion and understanding is something that I will always be grateful for. Peace Inside aims to expand this work as our team supports our clients, and each other, towards the fulfilment of our client’s identified goals.

We live in very challenging times and sometimes need somewhere to talk, and someone to listen and care. To be heard can be truly transformational and healing for someone, so providing a non-judgmental, safe space is imperative for the work. I aim to provide support and care through your journey. I work holistically and I am a firm believer that the Body keeps the score. If we suppress how we truly feel, it can manifest in other ways in the body. Ideally, we want to operate from a centered place of truth, compassion and awareness, and I’m here to help you with that.

Behavioural Issues Counsellors

What happens in therapy for behavioural issues?

No matter the type of therapy, individuals form an alliance with the therapist; that connection is often therapeutic in itself, plus it becomes an instrument of change. Individuals learn to identify situations that are especially troublesome for them and acquire new patterns of thinking and behaving. In therapy for ADHD, one of the most common behaviour issues for children, individuals learn how to improve frustration tolerance, control impulsivity, manage attentional focus, and gain skills of self-organisation.

What therapy types help with behavioural issues?

Many types of therapy have been found effective, each targeting one or more areas of dysfunction. Perhaps best-known and most widely tested is cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT), in which individuals learn new behavioral strategies and curb reactivity to frustrating or distressing situations that trigger disruptive behaviour. Anger, anxiety, mood disorders, impulse control problems are commonly addressed in CBT. Family therapy or parent management training is often helpful to reduce parent-child conflict and behavioral difficulties at home.

How long does therapy last for behavioural issues?

Among popular approaches to treating behavioural concerns, CBT is considered a short-term therapy intended to be administered in 15 to 20 weekly sessions. Parent training in behaviour management, often used when the underlying cause of behaviour issues is ADHD in children under 12, usually occurs in weekly sessions for 8 to 16 weeks. When behavioural issues stem from persistent aggression or defiance, therapy may last for months, and usually targets both children and their parents.

How effective is therapy for behaviour issues?

Studies show that therapy for behaviour issues in children is highly effective and may prevent the development of antisocial behaviour later in life. Family intervention—parent management training or family therapy, both of which involve parents and children together—is considered most effective, notably for children under age 12 who persistently engage in aggressive, defiant, rule-breaking or other disruptive behaviour. Whether provided alone or in combination with medication, CBT is highly effective in helping people regulate their emotions, and for people with ADHD, it addresses impulsiveness, hyperactivity and attentional focus.
