You speak so directly of the experience of so many women.
Unfortunately, women who worked without pay for years raising children are often (incorrectly) seen by employers as a "mismatch" for the "highly-competent employee" role.

I'd love to see employers become more educated about this. The skills one has gained as a parent can enhance job performance. For example, a parent needs to be able to grasp & organize the "big picture," & also may have gained skills in working with several generations.
