I work with adults who have a desire to better understand themselves and their place in the world. My primary area of focus is disconnection; from self, others, or from a sense of purpose in life. I believe that when we feel disconnected, a range of problems may arise as a result. Anxiety, depression, substance use, compulsive behaviours or feelings of numbness and unreality can often be alleviated through identifying areas in our life where we have become disconnected.

Following her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Sydney, Janice went on to earn a Master’s degree in Counselling with distinction from Monash University. She completed her clinical training with Psychiatrist Dr. Willy Wong at Hong Kong Psychiatric & Integrated Medical Centre, before training in areas including therapeutic play, family therapy, mindfulness practices, and maternal mental health support.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
