Dr. Kathryn Stamoulis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Educational Psychologist, living in New York. Her work, which covers topics related to adolescents and young adults, has appeared in numerous academic journals and media outlets. Kathryn has lectured widely and is especially passionate about promoting an honest and positive approach to sexual education and development. She has specific expertise in slut-bashing, street harassment and the sexualization of girls.

She maintains a private therapy practice and works primarily with teenage girls and young women. In addition to providing therapy, she teaches courses like The Psychology of Women, Developmental Pyschopathology and Human Sexuality.

Active in the American Psychological Association (APA), Kathryn is the President-Elect for the Society of Media Psychology and Technology and she is an associate editor of their publication, The Amplifier Magazine. The mission of this APA Division is to "give psychology away" by being a source of information in the media, a philosophy that guides Kathryn. She is a SheSource expert and an alumna of the prestigious Progressive Women's Voice's program.

Kathryn received her bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and holds an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Temple University.
