Deciding to have counselling can be anxiety provoking, trying to choose a counsellor/therapist from the list and wondering if they will be someone you can relate to, someone who will be able help you. I believe that the most important element to effective therapy is the quality of relationship between therapist and client.
My aim is to create confidential, empathetic and non-judgemental space for you to talk about whatever has led you to seek out therapeutic support. You may be feeling overwhelmed and need someone to listen empathically and help you understand your relationship to yourself and others and to the world around you.
With 19 years of experience, I offer a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings around emotional, relational and behavioural difficulties such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and mental health distress. My specialism is in working with survivors of sexual/domestic abuse and the resulting trauma, including DID
I have worked as the clinical lead for two sexual violence counselling support centres and supervise other therapists. I work for two universities clinically supporting students and staff.
