About
I am a mental health practitioner in CAMHS, specialising in working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression and behavioural difficulties; often experienced complex trauma and attachment issues. Yogi Buddies aims to make therapy accessible for all children and make therapy child-friendly, not an experience for a child to fear! Yogi Buddies uses a trauma-informed yoga therapy approach (BPS accredited) which is ideal for children who are not able to engage with traditional talking therapies and respond negatively to professionals.
I have experience within specialist residential settings, frontline social work and within CAMHS services in NHS. I am a therapist for children and my approach combines yoga, breath-work, meditation and use of psychological techniques with the use of sensory input. Using the mind-body connection to soothe the nervous system and regulate emotions.
Yogi Buddies is here if your child is struggling with mental or behavioural difficulties and may be struggling to access therapy due to waiting lists/thresholds of public services. Or maybe your child doesn't want to engage with traditional therapy or you worry this wouldn't be suitable for them. Perhaps your child tried therapy and it hasn't been effective.
