Hi I’m Lyndsay Gent (née Sage). I am a qualified Adlerian Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I also use a variety of modalities and the various training and CPD courses I have attended to tailor therapy to my clients individual needs. You can find a little more info on my Facebook page or Instagram. I offer therapy from my home in Pembrokeshire, in a secure relaxed environment or online, whichever you feel would work for you. Counselling can be a scary prospect, but taking that first step in making contact is often the hardest. Please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation.

If you feel anxious, unhappy in your life or if you are going through a major life event, I offer a space for you to gain understanding of why you are feeling the way you are and how to move on or change old habits and patterns. I can help you safely explore your past and how it has influenced your present and help you find ways to start changing your future.

I'm Carrie-ann, a qualified counsellor who focuses on finding out your needs and tailoring your therapy to match. Asking for support is never an easy task and often the hardest step we take. Making small changes to put yourself first, will have a positive impact on your wellbeing . The key to self development rests within our own self belief, resilience and internal reassurance. If we have a solid core and good foundations, it's easier to take on life's difficulties. I work with helping people build upon the strength in knowing who they are, in order to empower and build confidence.

Qualified counsellor and supervisor. Sometimes life events and situations can feel too heavy to carry alone, impacting and affecting our ability to cope and function. Resulting in anxiety, stress or depression and affecting our relationships with those around us. At times these events can be experienced as trauma and professional support may be needed to get back on track. I am a trauma informed therapist, trained in the Rewind technique (Human Givens), a non-intrusive, safe and highly effective powerful and psychological detraumatisation method, which can be used to address trauma and is also useful for treating phobias.

Know thyself is an ancient aphorism that encourages individuals to explore and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. The phrase dates back to ancient Greece, where it was inscribed on the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. At its core, know thyself is a call to introspection, self-awareness, and personal growth. It encourages you to look within, explore your thoughts and emotions, and gain insight into their motivations, values, and beliefs. By knowing yourself, you can better understand your strengths and weaknesses, make more informed choices, and live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Hi, I’m Sarah. I became a counsellor as I believe in the healing power of the counselling relationship. Sometimes we can feel lost and alone with how we feel. Having someone to share and work through our thoughts and feelings with, in a safe, nonjudgemental environment can help us to make the changes we want to make and begin to move forward with our lives.

As a qualified therapist, I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Systemic Counselling from The Family Institute (University of South Wales). I am a systemically trained counsellor,’ Systemic' therapy really means 'relational' as it emphasises the fact that people live in a world with others, not just inside their heads or bodies. I work with relationships, looking at patterns, communication, and desired changes. My main approach is person-centred therapy, although I will often use other therapeutic approaches and techniques that I believe will work well with my client.

I work with young people and adults and I offer a non-judgemental and friendly space in which to get to know you. If you experience stress, anxiety or depression or finding life difficult, through collaboration we can explore what has led to this point in your life. We can identify what you would like to achieve during our time together, what is important to you and what you would like to be different by the time counselling has ended? I offer creative approaches for those that may fine it hard to express themselves and using an integrative approach can tailor therapy to suit your needs.

Hello I am a professionally qualified BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years of counselling experience. I draw from CBT, humanistic approaches and solution focused therapy. I offer a space where there is respect, warm understanding and sensitive encouragement to explore problems and to develop new ways of coping. Our first session would be an opportunity to look at what issues are concerning you and to see how we can work together. If you then decide you would like to continue, we can arrange to meet again.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
