I practice NARM , Neuro affective relational model, which is an exploration of your inner world, I also practice Brainspotting which is a somatic experience of focusing the visual cortex on spots that correlate to feeling states, memories and experiences.
Hello, My name is Philip. I work with developmental trauma and its associated symptoms, which can be wide ranging, from anxiety and depression, people pleasing and poor boundaries to poor emotional regulation and mood swings. Developmental capacities in childhood , support us as adults to engage in relationships with others and to function well in the world, however if these capacities are impacted by our early relationships and environments then we may struggle to connect, maintain healthy boundaried relationships and regulate and enjoy our feeling states, we may be prone to anxiety or depression, periods of withdrawal or shutdown.

As a somatic, trauma-informed counsellor and supervisor, I help you reduce nervous system overload, untangle old patterns and process loss at a steady pace.
You're capable, responsible and often the one others rely on. On the surface you’re coping, but underneath you may feel exhausted, anxious or quietly overwhelmed. You might be navigating grief, burnout or the long-term impact of growing up with an emotionally immature or narcissistic parent. You want relief from constant pressure, a calmer nervous system, and space to reconnect with who you are - not just who you’ve had to be.

The space that I offer you will be all yours. It will be relaxed and comfortable, which will aid in your ability to feel open. Counselling can be daunting, and beginning- even more so. I aim to make this process as simple as possible, with the main focus being you, and what you want to explore. I will offer my knowledge and experience through ideas, solutions, strategies and techniques. Whatever your goal is, I want to help you achieve it.

I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities — including person-centred, psychodynamic, somatic approaches, and CBT — depending on what feels most helpful for you.
I founded The Listening Space because of my vision and belief that everyone deserves a calm and supportive environment where they can talk freely and feel genuinely heard. For many people, life can at times feel overwhelming, uncertain, or stuck, and The Listening Space offers a safe place to pause, reflect, and explore what’s happening.

My approach is somatic and trauma-informed.
If you are tired of feeling low, depleted, stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or stressed-out, I can help you to reclaim your vitality and zest for life. Whether you struggle with a diagnosed condition such as Anxiety, Depression, Panic Disorder, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Fibromyalgia, or just want to transcend the mire of brain fog, anxious thoughts, and worry, my work can pave the way to a radically different future. We start by looking at symptoms as purposeful messengers - unpacking their underlying causes. Then I teach you how to unlock your deeper potentials for healing, wellbeing, resilience, motivation, and mental clarity.

I am a person centred, trauma informed HCPC registered art therapist who offers a bespoke approach to art therapy sessions, meeting you where you are at and working together to establish your goals and the direction of therapy. You absolutely do not have to be good at art to benefit from art therapy. It is much more about the process of making and your experience of using the materials than the final product. Art making can be a bridge to communication where there are no words, a way of grounding and creating space for mindful reflection.

My core training is Person-Centred into which I incorporate training and study in other approaches including Trauma, Attachment and Psychoanalysis as well as a focus on somatic or body processing.
Coming to therapy can feel like a big step. At least it did for me! Most people at different times in their lives face problems that may seem insurmountable, seem to be recurrent or seem rooted in their pasts. Being with someone who can give you the space and time to explore yourself, your issues and your emotions can help bring about change. Often, I think, we come to therapy in order to discover the true reason why we have come to therapy. The source of the issue is not always apparent but in the supportive and facilitated space of our therapy sessions, the agency and self-healing abilities we all possess can be stimulated.

I'm a Humanistic Existential counsellor and qualified Wild Therapist, with over 10 years experience in somatic, body-based and self-expression work.
I offer counselling for adults, often men, experiencing the impact of unresolved trauma. This may relate to difficult childhood experiences, abuse or neglect, bereavement or loss, military service, discrimination distress, life-altering events, or environments where emotional needs were not safely met. The people I work with have often spent years adapting to survive difficult experiences, disconnecting from and masking parts of themselves, struggling with emotional overwhelm, staying busy, being highly self-critical, or losing touch with what they need. Therapy can offer space to slow down and make sense of these patterns.

These may be long-standing or more recent, for example reactions to challenging circumstances in the present or more recent past. You will be motivated and willing to engage actively in your own recovery and self-awareness. While I do not have an ideal client - I have worked with a range of clients in a number of settings including the NHS, and Employee Assistance Providers - I do find it very rewarding and interesting to work with the body and creative approaches, and particularly welcome clients open to working in this way.

I work with both individuals and couples, providing safe and confidential space for meaningful therapeutic dialogue. Grounded in Systemic Practice and deeply informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) for couples, my practice is established in helping people transform difficult experiences—such as trauma, phobias, and anxiety—into growth and healing with wider opportunities. I have been practicing professionally since 2010 and have completed all levels of IFS training. Over the years, I have witnessed profound transformations as clients reconnect to their inner resources and deeper nature.

I'm Hannah and I am an integrative therapist specialising in using eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to treat a wide range of psychological issues. I am highly trained in psychotherapy, neuroscience and trauma and believe that our current issues can often be traced back to early adverse experiences in childhood. Compared to standard talking therapy EMDR generally takes a shorter amount of time to get to the root cause of the issue. Rather than just dealing with symptom management (like CBT), EMDR therapy works directly with the cause of your distress.

I blend CBT and evidence-based practice with elements from third-wave approaches such as ACT and DBT-informed techniques, alongside somatic awareness, trauma-informed care, and insights from Schema Therapy — particularly in understanding deeper emotional patterns and unmet needs.
Feeling stuck despite trying everything? Many of my clients say: "I understand what's wrong, but I still feel overwhelmed and exhausted." If anxiety or low mood feels constant, patterns keep repeating, or you're carrying past experiences you can't shake - you're not broken. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it learnt to do.I specialise in evidence-based CBT enhanced with nervous system awareness and neuroscience education. Many clients notice meaningful shifts within 3 sessions - not because we just talk, but because we work with your body's responses, not against them.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
