I am a qualified Therapist with over 6 years of experience working within the substance misuse & mental health sector. The key to my work with clients is the belief that, through a psychotherapeutic relationship, we can gain insights into our patterns of behaviour. Working relationally, we can explore the possibility of change and begin to think of alternative positions that can move towards a more compassionate, and fulfilled version of ourselves. As I am currently in full training as a Transactional Analyst, I'm offering a reduced rate to clients seeking Psychotherapy.

Available Weekends. I like to work with a variety of clients, focusing on their relationship with whatever has brought them to therapy, whether it be anxiety, past trauma, alcohol or family. With the knowledge that change can happen at any time, we work towards where the client wants to be in there life. The more open and honest the client is, the more work we can complete together.

I often work with people who want to find a way to let go of the things that are holding them back. They want to feel more like the person they have a sense they could be if only they knew how. They want more authenticity and better relationships - or just to feel okay. Sometimes people have lost touch with their own self-worth. A crisis may have occurred. They may be struggling to feel any hope. Emotions and thoughts may be overwhelming or there can be a sense of numbness. During initial sessions, they might say things like they want to find clarity, feel confident, lighter, less burdened, and have a greater sense of freedom.

You may be somebody with mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and/or stress. These may be long-standing or more recent, for example reactions to challenging circumstances in the present or more recent past. You will be motivated and willing to engage actively in your own recovery and self-awareness. While I do not have an ideal client - I have worked with a range of clients in a number of settings including the NHS and Employee Assistance Providers - I do find it very rewarding and interesting to work with the body and creative approaches, and particularly welcome clients open to working in this way.

I am an integrative therapist specialising in using eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to treat a wide range of psychological issues. I am highly trained in psychotherapy, neuroscience and trauma and believe that our current issues can often be traced back to early adverse experiences in childhood. Compared to standard talking therapy EMDR generally takes a shorter amount of time to get to the root cause of the issue. Rather than just dealing with symptom management (like CBT), EMDR therapy works directly with the cause of your distress.

I have many years of experience as a Counsellor and Hypnotherapist and I know that the reason you are even reading this is because you or someone you know needs help. How do we start? A simple chat, either over the phone or online. We will discuss your worries or issues and together work out the best way forward. This may be just one method or a combination of therapies. You will be in control of this and it can be changed as we progress, I offer this in a safe, confidential and non judgemental environment.

Why am I stressed? Why am I irritated? Why am I tired? Why am I depressed? Why can’t I just switch off? Are these some of the questions on your mind? At times, when we are feeling anxious or low we can sometimes think “What’s the point in trying, I won’t make a difference?” These questions can lead to feelings of stress, depression, fear and sadness. This then leads to changes in our behaviour such as withdrawing from others or staying in bed as we mull things over in our heads which makes us feel worse.

Hi there. If you stopped here, that means that probably you are looking for some assistance, so I hope you will find this information useful when choosing the right support for your needs. Let me start asking you a question: What steps are you taking to ensure your emotional and psychological needs are satisfied? If you are struggling with saying no and ending up pleasing everybody but yourself, feel trapped and incapable to get rid of worries and anxiety or just overwhelmed with your current life situation then perhaps you are not meeting some of your needs. I can help you with that.

Gambling Counsellors
A compulsive gambler or a pathological gambler is someone who is unable to resist his or her impulses to gamble. The urge to gamble becomes so great that tension can only be relieved by more gambling.

There is a very fine line between problem gambling or Cardiff gambling addiction and gambling too much. The critical sign of problem gambling is often hidden from awareness, with denial. Many gamblers in Cardiff typically do not know they have a problem. Admitting you have a problem, or may have a problem, is the first step to recovery.

Treatment options include individual and group psychotherapy, and self-help support groups such as Gamblers Anonymous (a 12-step programme for gamblers). Abstinence principles that apply to other types of addiction are also relevant in the treatment of compulsive gambling behaviour in Cardiff.

Recently, medications such as antidepressants, opioid antagonists, and mood stabilizers have been shown to be beneficial in combination with gambling treatment by a Cardiff gambling counsellor or gambling counsellors in Cardiff or those experienced with gambling behaviours in Cardiff.
