It’s the influences around you—the relationships, family dynamics, social circles, and even your environment—that shape your experience and well-being.
I believe the influences around you can either promote growth or create patterns of thinking that limit your potential/growth and can hold you back. We will explore how these have shaped your life to uncover the unconscious cycles or patterns you may have created. Together, we can work to understand these and create opportunities for positive change.

If you to talk freely and feel heard, please keep reading. Talking openly to an active listener can offer psychological relief, improve clarity, and develop self acceptance. We spend a lot of time in our own heads, often suppressing difficult thoughts or feeling like we're going round in circles. Speaking aloud can break the pattern. Therapy almost always concerns the relationship with the self and the stories we tell ourselves. It can increase understanding and confidence.

I have trained as an integrative counsellor, and believe that therapy can help us evolve from surviving to thriving. I became a counsellor for many reasons, but fundamentally because of the powerful way in which counselling can help you take back control of your life story; tomorrow does not have to be like yesterday. I can offer you a calm space to explore what feels safe to you until you are ready and I will not make assumptions about the individual struggles you are going through. I work with the full belief that it is possible to find a way through your experiences and re-gain that sense of who you are.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious, low, numb, have lost a relationship or something important to you and you don’t know how to go forward, or feel like life is moving too fast, I am ready to listen to you with understanding and openness. I work with clients who are trying to make sense of how their past is affecting their present. Perhaps you know that something in your childhood is still impacting you and you want to understand it more or figure out how to make a change. I am particularly passionate about helping clients who have experienced spiritual or religious abuse and know the deep impact this has.

I draw on evidence-based approaches like ACT and family therapy, bringing compassionate and person-centred care to support people across the lifespan and diverse backgrounds.
Are you feeling emotionally drained, anxious, or stuck — perhaps facing a health condition, grief, or a major life transition? Or maybe you are also navigating questions around your identity, expectations from society, or the impact of feeling different or misunderstood. You long to feel calmer, more connected, and confident in who you are - to live meaningfully, even alongside emotional distress or pressure. You’re ready for support that’s warm, inclusive, and grounded in genuine care so that you can engage with what is important for you.

I have helped clients with mild mental health issues such as general stress to higher needs such as schizophrenia and personality disorders. I would say my expertise lies mostly with anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. I work with the clients goals in mind, at their own pace and ability. No two clients are the same and adjust my skills accordingly. Whether you’re looking for small changes in perspective, understanding or attitude, or you want a deeper more meaningful change in thinking, behaviour and habits I am willing to walk that journey with you.

Family Therapy Counsellors

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
