A few of these include trauma, difficult relationships, addictions, family issues, anxiety, depression and abuse (see below for more).
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I believe that today's problems can be rooted in lived experiences or past traumas. With careful excavation, they can be overcome when acknowledged in a confidential and safe environment and by building the therapeutic relationship within the room between you and I.

I work with individuals and couples navigating life's "in-between" spaces—those feeling the weight of cultural shifts, identity confusion, or family roles that no longer fit. My clients often feel like strangers to themselves, arriving with a sense of survival rather than true connection. I offer a space where your contradictions are welcome and your voice is finally heard. By integrating depth-oriented tools with creative metaphor, I help you untangle old patterns and move through transitions without the need for a clinical script. Together, we work toward living with genuine presence and clarity.

Addiction.
Not all difficulties are visible from the outside, nor fully resolved by competence, success, or endurance. Many people who come to my practice are highly capable, carrying responsibility, pressure, and often more than others realise. Others feel privately stuck despite outward stability. Difficulties may relate to trauma, dissociation, compulsive coping, childhood neglect, abuse, military service, or demanding professional or home environments. Having worked in the Square Mile, and been a stay at home Mum, I understand pressured cultures and help clients address what remains unresolved so life can move forward more freely.

I have helped clients with mild mental health issues such as general stress to higher needs such as schizophrenia and personality disorders. I would say my expertise lies mostly with anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. I work with the clients goals in mind, at their own pace and ability. No two clients are the same and adjust my skills accordingly. Whether you’re looking for small changes in perspective, understanding or attitude, or you want a deeper more meaningful change in thinking, behaviour and habits I am willing to walk that journey with you.

I am a person centred, trauma informed HCPC registered art therapist who offers a bespoke approach to art therapy sessions, meeting you where you are at and working together to establish your goals and the direction of therapy. You absolutely do not have to be good at art to benefit from art therapy. It is much more about the process of making and your experience of using the materials than the final product. Art making can be a bridge to communication where there are no words, a way of grounding and creating space for mindful reflection.

I help people with various mental health problems including depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, stress, relationship problems, addiction and sleep difficulties.
I may ask questions about various areas of your life to try and understand what is happening and how to best help. I aim to be holistic, taking into account how factors including early experiences, relationship challenges, daily stressors, physical health problems, sleep and diet can all contribute to how we feel.

Life's too short to be unhappy or unfulfilled. Therapy can help you learn and develop better ways to break through the obstacles that seem to be holding you back in life. Understanding links between your past and present, your patterns of behaviour and emotions enable us to move forward with understanding and self-compassion. I believe the past is always present, embrace the future by resolving patterns that no longer serve you. I consider the therapeutic relationship healing in itself and focus on creating a genuine healing connection. I offer a warm, secure, and confidential space to process, recover, heal and grow.

I've worked across helplines, mental health charities and addiction services, supporting people through crisis and complex emotional difficulties.
You might feel exhausted by your own mind, always analysing, replaying things, and worrying about what other people think. You can be thoughtful and self-aware, but it doesn’t always make things easier. If anything, it can be hard to know which thoughts are really yours, what you’re actually feeling, or what you truly want. Sometimes emotions feel like a lot, and other times it’s harder to feel anything clearly at all. When that happens, it’s easy to turn on yourself, to question, criticise, or feel like you should be handling things better. This is where having some support can make a difference.

As a Gestalt trainee psychotherapist, I offer a warm, deeply supportive space for you to explore whatever is currently significant in your life. I understand that reaching out for therapy can be challenging, and I will meet you with care and curiosity. My approach is firmly rooted in the present moment, focusing on your immediate experience—thoughts, emotions, sensations, and how they manifest in your body. We will use therapeutic inquiry to explore your lived experience and identify recurrent patterns. As awareness develops, we can creatively experiment with new ways of being.

It can feel overwhelming to contact a therapist and consider that you may need support, however, it is never too late to ask for help as it shows a sign of strength in a person and a readiness for change. I am offering both long-term and short-term therapy where we can engage in insightful ways to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours. My aim is to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship that helps you to develop self-awareness to work through and reflect on any issues you might be experiencing.

Coming to therapy can feel like a big step. At least it did for me! Most people at different times in their lives face problems that may seem insurmountable, seem to be recurrent or seem rooted in their pasts. Being with someone who can give you the space and time to explore yourself, your issues and your emotions can help bring about change. Often, I think, we come to therapy in order to discover the true reason why we have come to therapy. The source of the issue is not always apparent but in the supportive and facilitated space of our therapy sessions, the agency and self-healing abilities we all possess can be stimulated.

Seeking a mental health reset? Please keep reading. Talking openly to a professional listener, and a complete stranger, can offer mental health relief, improve clarity, and develop self acceptance. We spend a lot of time in our own interior worlds, often suppressing difficult thoughts or feeling like we're going round in circles. Speaking aloud can help to break the cycle.

What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
