About
I offer you a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental approach. You may want to talk about anything from family or relationship issues, anxiety, anger, depression, loss or whatever is important to you. All of us experience emotional difficulties at some point in our lives. We can find it hard to cope. Counselling provides a safe and confidential space where you can talk about what is happening in your life, explore thoughts and feelings, find ways to cope and help begin to think about a way forward. Counselling can offer general support or can focus on more specific issues.
I have 15 years experience as a therapist: senior practitioner, service manager and supervisor in charities, in the NHS, in private practice and as a trainer of therapists. I have experience in supporting people in a broad context, however, I have worked extensively with people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, sex and gender issues.
With so many therapists you might find it hard to know who is best for you. That is why I offer a low-cost initial consultation where I can explain how I work and you can ask me any questions you may have. You can then decide whether therapy with me will be helpful for you.
