Hello and thanks for visiting my profile. My name is Anita and I am an experienced and qualified counsellor based in Canterbury. I work with young people and adults and my experience as a counsellor has been within colleges, school settings, workplaces and my private practice. My aim is to provide a safe, friendly, confidential, warm, caring and non-judgmental space and to provide the right support to suit your needs and to assist you through your specific problems. I like to bring creativity to the counselling room along with my passion for the work that I do. I am Registered Member of the BACP.
I specialise in Eating Disorders & Obesity, having trained at Advanced Diploma level through the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCfED) and gaining a Master Practitioner Award. In addition to this, I work with with anxiety, depression, panic disorder, stress, abuse, family issues, low self-esteem and bereavement/grief.
It can often feel like a big step just thinking about having counselling, and you may be anxious or apprehensive about the idea, so I understand that it can take tremendous courage to seek help and invest your time and energy into trying to make a change. This is why I offer an initial consultation as, finding the right counsellor is really important.
