A warm welcome to Waterways Therapy and the start of our journey together. Hello my name is Verna, I am a person Centred Counsellor, who is very passionate about helping my clients find their smile again, self love, and acceptance, enabling your true authentic self to emerge. When I work alongside you I aim to break old familiar patterns and to find healthier new ones, freeing you from whatever is holding you back. Being heard by someone who will listen in a confidential, non- judgemental and compassionate place, will enable us both to explore any issues which may be causing you confusion or distress at your own pace.
Whether you are a child, adolescent or an adult, you can feel empowered to explore your experiences, knowing I will truly accept you as you are. I use a targeted approach to set realistic goals, and will check in with you regularly to see how you think our counselling sessions are progressing. I begin our sessions with a thorough clinical assessment.
I have been working with children, adolescents and adults for several years. I am currently freelancing for First Steps - Eating Disorder Charity. I had placements at SARAC - Rape and Abuse Advice Centre,Cruse - Bereavement Charity, and Place 2 Be - Child's Mental Health Charity.
