Firstly, a huge well done for taking the first big step in finding the right therapist for you which can be a difficult experience! My name is Vikki and I am a Motherwell based psychotherapist, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have years of experience working with mental health and wellbeing, a true passion of mine. Mental illness is unfortunately increasing within our society for a number of reasons, and I am committed to making a difference in this. I have already been able to help many people overcome a multitude of problems such as multiple anxiety disorders, depression, suicidal ideations, and addiction.
CBT can help with many issues. It focuses on cognitions (thoughts), emotions, and behaviours and explores how these intertwine and can lead us to becoming “stuck” in unhelpful patterns and cycles. CBT helps to build coping mechanisms, and works to replace unhelpful thoughts and behaviours with more positive ones, breaking these unhelpful cycles.
Having been a previous service user of CBT, I am a live advert of how this type of therapy can help you to change your life! I am confident that, together, we can create the right goals, as well as a treatment plan tailored to you, that will help you develop positive habits and appropriate skills to overcome your current difficulties.
