Entering therapy is a rare opportunity for reflection in a complex, often overwhelming world. After many years in sexual health research and service design grappling with the social and cultural forces that shape our experiences and desires, I believe the therapy process can help bring about lasting change. This goes beyond self-improvement; it gets to the heart of what living well involves for each of us. Working psychodynamically, with respect for the unique influence unconscious patterns, narratives and beliefs have on our lives, we can understand how these protect us and hinder our efforts to live creative, fulfilling lives.
I specialise in working with questions about sexuality and gender identify, chronic illness, and experiences of anxiety, depression and obsessive thinking. I am experienced in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, professionals experiencing burnout and young adults grappling with the opportunities and challenges of learning to live fully as themselves.
Change can sometimes feel frightening, even when desired. It takes courage to navigate transitions of any kind. I work alongside my clients, exploring their issues with curiosity and compassion at a pace which suits them. We work together to identify what matters to them, developing their capacity to creatively face the challenges involved in living fully.

More and more multidisciplinary research evidences how psychological problems have roots in early experiences, so we will likely spend time exploring these together, making links between past experiences and present challenges. This will help us identify the changes that might be needed to live in greater alignment throughout the inevitable ebbs and flows of life.
