Hello parents and carers, being a parent can be challenging at times, particularly when you are worried about your child's mental health and well-being. Your child might be having issues with low self-esteem or low confidence levels? Perhaps they are presenting as more anxious than usual or displaying behaviours which you find challenging? Your child might be experiencing difficulties with friendships at school, or as a family you may be finding relationships with each other to be fraught. Play therapy offers a confidential space for your child to work through their issues using creative arts, toys, games and play.
I am a qualified play therapist offering individual play therapy to children aged 4-12 in my private practice based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. I work in a child-centred way and my approach is non-directive. I create a playful safe space for the therapeutic relationship to develop, enabling your child to lead their play towards positive growth and change.
In addition to regular weekly play therapy sessions I aim to work systemically with families and the team around the child if appropriate. I offer support to parents in the form of review meetings every 6-8 weeks (or more often if required). Please get in touch to find out more about my approach and how I might be able to support you and your family.
