I have been a Clinical Psychologist for 14 years and specialise in working with parents of children with mental health / behaviour difficulties. This includes parents of older children who are struggling and may or may not be accessing their own support. I work with parents whose children are experiencing a range of mental health and behaviour difficulties. This includes addiction; anxiety; low mood; suicidality; OCD; eating disorders; those who are withdrawn, not talking, and who do not leave their rooms; and those who struggle with anger and aggression.
I use Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), which has been specifically designed for parents of children with mental health difficulties. I will help you to make sense of your child’s difficulties and the way parenting is leaving you feeling. I will also help you to use therapeutic parenting skills which will help you to support your child.
