We are currently living in unsettling and uncertain times, Such persistent uncertainty in our lives can lead to abnormally raised levels of anxiety, insecurity and fear. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, these were likely to arise from fear for your health and those close to you, the grief arising from bereavement, the strain of social isolation and the financial consequences of unemployment, loss of financial security. The current cost of living crisis can only make things worse.You are in acute need of support but reluctant to burden friends or family because they may also be struggling their own pressures and stress.
As an integrative counsellor, I aim to offer a counselling process based on your needs, so I incorporate various evidence based approaches used in a range of counselling and psychotherapy models to address different aspects of a client’s difficulties. Primarily, I use strategies drawn from different CBT models, SFBT & psychodynamic therapy.
I offer you the encouragement and support you need to pause, reflect and become more aware of the possible origins of your difficulties. I may invite you to connect with thoughts and feelings that you may have previously overlooked (or avoided), give you encouragement to do things differently, note the results and apply what you have learned about yourself.
