Hello, I'm Lisa :) I am an experienced person-centred counsellor working with individuals (aged 16 years and over) and families. I know first hand how daunting it can be to chose a counsellor, particularly for people from minority groups who typically experience discrimination, so I hope my profile gives you a sense of how I work and if we'd be well suited. I aim to establish a nurturing therapeutic relationship with you characterised by transparency, authenticity, trust and just a dash of humour! My availability is: Monday 12.30 - 8pm, Tuesday 12.30 - 8pm, Thursday 12.30 - 8pm, Friday 12.30 -6.30pm.
I welcome working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. My primary areas of specialty are diverse gender identities and expressions (including transgender, non-binary and genderqueer people); non-traditional relationship dynamics and structures (including ethical non-monogamy, polyamory and kink), neurodivergence and C-PTSD.
I am one of very few counsellors in Scotland that are competent to work with variant gender identities and non-traditional relationships in a non-pathologising way. Please note my current waiting list is approx 6 months.
