Hello there, my name is Debbie and I discovered that I am autistic at the age of 40. I am also a mum to a neurodivergent child so I understand some of the unique challenges that come with being an autistic parent. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stressed or burnt out from masking. You need a therapist that understands what it's like to feel this way, in a world that wasn't built for neurodivergent minds. I named my practice Unboxed Counselling because I want to help people live more authentically and to offer therapy that truly fits neurodivergent ways of being. Counselling should fit who you are, not the other way around.

Sessions are tailored to your needs. If you don't want to make eye contact, you don't have to and you don't need to explain why. If you want to switch your camera off that's fine too. I take a neuro-affirming stance and believe we are all unique and valid.

I believe you are the expert on yourself and recognise that many neurodivergent people have experienced trauma to varying degrees. I may gently challenge you at times in order for you to get the most out of therapy, but ultimately I respect everyone as an individual.

I work predominantly online and my standard fee for a 50 minute session is £50. I do offer a reduced rate for clients who are on a low income or unwaged of £40. I also have a special rate for counselling students of £35.
