I take an integrative approach which enables me to work with each individual in a way that is unique to them and their needs from therapy. My approach also serves to integrate thoughts, feelings and bodily experience. I offer space for people who wish to explore fundamental issues. Some people are driven to counselling by a current crisis that means they need support. Others have been managing perfectly well but decide that repeating destructive patterns or underlying dissatisfaction now deserve attention. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision. This is 'counselling with a soulful perspective'. The strongest influence in the training is Jung. In this perspective, times of real difficulty or despair are seen as holding a potential for change and growth. In our work you will be heard and witnessed.

My name is Laura McGarrigle, welcome to my counselling and psychotherapy page.  I qualified as a Therapeutic Counsellor in 2013.  Therapy and doing the work can be challenging, rewarding and fruitful experience.  I believe a robust relationship between therapist and client necessary for the work to take place and the client to get the most of their sessions.  In this sense I see counselling as a dialogue, a two way process and something I approach with a curious mind.  A necessity of the training is that I had to undergo extensive counselling and I would not expect my client to go where i have not been prepared to myself.
